how many APPs should i have before i ascened

That is a matter of personal choice and it also depends on how many times you have ascended and your play style. Do you plan to play ascended or just ascending for the bonuses?. There are so many factors involved there is no set limit. Basic rule of thumb is "you can't get to many"

Most(who actually care about the ascension server) try to get, at a bare minimum, 500k APP

Depends on your size and what ascention it is really.

If its your first ascention, go for maybe a 20k UP, so you dont lose to much.

But if your already a LG+1 and looking to boost your ascended account then 1mil APP is a minimum.
