Well it just occured to me after reading some nice post that i either dont see the new faces or there are few.
I mean a typical forum day ( which is rather short nowadays) looks like
a post of Rek, Buck, goodie,....
( names choosen random^^)
you normally know the content of what will be said bye reading the name
and its to far in between that you read something new.
are others having the same feeling or do i simple look into the wrong topics`?

Re: New Faces on the Forum?
my theory is that since the bigger players r involved in most of the wars and watnot, they are more active on the forums. also, some ppl dont have the time to sift thru hundreds of posts on a daily basis.

I agree with you on that one, usually all the posts involve the big guys/gals. thats why i dont post much. Though reading its usually a laugh

Oh, man, you are using a DVORAK??? What did you devolve for?
And Flavar; do I count as a new face? Pick me, pick me!

Re: New Faces on the Forum?
It's more fun to read what others say than to actually post anything. If I have anything to say I usually just talk on MSN.

Re: New Faces on the Forum?
Been a lurker for a long time as for the past year and a bit i've been on the sgw irc instead. Much easier to chat, get things organised and i'm well assocaited with most of the people there. Essentially i saw forums were quite (sgw) politically and ingame orientated while the irc rarely talks about it and is more focused on being a community. I play for the community and not the numbers on my account and so it was a lot more comfortable in there. I've only recently started to post as quite a lot of time has becomed free and its a bit of a change.
One of the reasons there's so few new faces from my own point of view, is that they are quite confronting at first glance. There are a lot of characters, a lot of egos, a full spectrum of emotions and a lot of history on these forums. Not saying thats all there is, but to someone new, to both the game and the community, it can be quite intimidating initially.
You have to worry about your ingame account when making a post and without any sort of introductions/welcoming area, you have to somehow sum up the courage and leap into the colourful fray.
It hasn't been too bad or difficult for me as i know quite a few members from my time in irc, but to someone completly new...

Re: New Faces on the Forum?
I got sick of every from the This and That up complaining and being dull...so I only post in the misc section and on the rarest of days I venture upwards to the race boards or general...I'm not really an old face though. More like a skeleton in the closet that you hope would go away but keeps showing up when you don't want it to.

Our failure is obvious, we had our foot on the throat of Humanity and we failed to step down hard enough.
