scarcity

I think we should eliminate all income planets and, just give the other planet types x amount of naq at random (of course, their will be planets [such as earth] that have no naq at all), they should have a limited amount of naq to be mined from them, and instead make the lifers transferable between the home world and other planets, planets should have a satalite scan opun obtaining them, when one runs out of naq in a world, the lifers in that world can no longer support themselves, so you must pay them for rations, or sacrifice them, but of course all this affects the planets' economies accordingly^_^

Re: scarcity

and what would that do to those that have extremly upgraded income planets?

or for that matter, if they were elliminated, what would happen to those that have them? many of those actually have hundreds of billions of naq invested in defenses... would that be lost?

also, what would be the gain from this idea?

Re: scarcity

change all income planets into another planet randomly, and have the same amount of naq that went into them be the upgrade naq for the random planet,

the gain from this would be a more realistic game, instead of having unlimited resources,
this would also help stimulate the planet market, as well as give a use to the impending threat of lifers,
there is actually a lot to be gained from this

Re: scarcity

I believe this adds an unnecessary level of complexity to the game.

Re: scarcity

from planet to planet, yes eventually,
though in the series there have always been more planets, and even more galaxies,
and besides planets don't run out of naq in a single day, it would take a little time

i really think this complexity is worth it, as it makes the game more realistic and better matching to the series

most suggestions in here are about more alliance abilities or more user interface of some kind, well how about something to make the game more realistic, such as eliminating the infinite resources

zomg if this acutally happend the sgw universe would be a wasteland in no time. cuz the really big players would need 2 or 3 new planets each day cuz they would mine them so fast it would just be utter crazyness with people takeing planets just for a little naquada fix and using all 3 market turns just to get a planet to mine for a day or two just to abandon it to the abyss omg.
we are all gonna die!

Re: scarcity

we have yet to see a planet abandoned in the sg universe...

especially only after a couple of years of use...

Re: scarcity

Umm dumbest idea ever. To begin with what happens when your home world runs out of naq and your small player with no other planets to mine from. basically u die out thus widening the gap the game is so hard to try and close between large player and small players. Also its a game therefore u need to be able to collect naq at a constant rate not go out and try to find more planets everyday to get more, bad idea as the game would most likely die out cause some people wouldnt want to have to login all the time and go search for a new planet to get more resources.

Re: scarcity

i'm not talking about 1bil, or 1 tril, naq apeice, but a much higher quantity, one to suit the higher players, the lower players will have all they need

and if you still don't like the idea, how about another game server, for those of us who wish to play a more realistic game?
