Re: Dr. Who?

The last few episodes, with the return of the Master, have been brilliant.

Re: Dr. Who?

I watched the last episode - "The Last of the Time Lords". It was brilliant. Full of action and a few laughs. The end also sets up the Christmas special.

Yeah, it was everything you could want from a finale and more.

My own personal favourite moment was when the Master made his grand entrance singing and dancing to the Scissor Sisters. 8)

Re: Dr. Who?

A great injustice has been done. Catherine Tate, the most unfunny comedian ever to grace BBC television (or possibly the world), is to be the Doctor's new companion in series 4.

Re: Dr. Who?

The ending was great! They killed the Master but made room for his return with the ring thing. I liked how the Utopians were the enemies in the end. They shouldn't have left Jack, but they had to make room for a potential season two of Torchwood. I didn't really like the Face of Boe thing because it's inconsistent. Firstly, he died in Gridlock. Secondly, the Face of Boe is telepathic and has tentacles, and became pregnant in one of the satellite 5 episodes... Thirdly, the time is wrong because he was born five billion years before the year 500 million.

actually with the FoB (Face of boe), ur not told when we was born, DW (dr who) says myth said FoB has been around since the beginning of time... so yes it is jack,
FoB doesnt get pregnant, he says he was pregnant once, jack as said that before as well
FoB isnt telepathic (i dont think) but with the right equipment he could project his thoughts.... or if he is then its just an evolution of jack...
At the end of season 3 jack asks the dr wat he will become bil of yrs in the future if he lives, DW says he doesnt know, hence => FoB

i dont like the new proposed companion either...

Re: Dr. Who?

I'm pretty sure you got 5 billion years as his age in one episode... It looks to me like they just threw Jack's comment in as a nice way to end his career without planning it out much.

Re: Dr. Who?

I hated the Jack/FoB implication.

To me, it was wholly ill-considered and contrived. Especially when we consider that Jack, in the present, has made third person references to the FoB in previous episodes. Lazy writing from a writer trying too hard to tease and surprise his audience. It was the only thing about the finale I didn't like.

I still think it could just be a red herring, though.

Re: Dr. Who?

Yeah, I also disliked that, as previously stated, and other than that, and how Jack left forever, I greatly enjoyed the finale. Donna's going to be the new companion though. That'll suck.

Re: Dr. Who?

Crap - we only JUST had "42" here last week. I had already spoilered myself with the Boe/Captain Jack revelations by visiting the Beeb's official site. I am gonna have to stop visiting this thread.
