Just watched episode 4, bit confused since I though episode 3 ended with a shuttle launch, then in episode 4 they are talking about 'if they can fly it' followed by... well nothing much happening.
One again stones used for a boring visit to the wife, I wonder if it was a congical visit would that count as cheating

Obviously stones should be used for correctly qualified personal on Earth to take shifts on the ship but hey what fun is common sense
For those comparing to BSG, I'd say apart from the FTL drive I dont see the similarity. BSG had great characters from the start that draw you in, lots of fast paced action and a great soundtrack to set the mood. SGU is lacking all of the above.

The comparisons were drawn between the camera and story styles.
not to mention some of the character builds

OKAY THAT EPISODE WAS AWESOME! Best one yet, by far. It was pretty dang good, even though I predicted what would happen right at the end of last episode. Obviously they would use the Star as a power source, it was surprising to learn though that the ship uses Stars for power... only, like that's it's power source. PRETTY DAMN AWESOME.
Kind of killed the drama to know that the shuttle people would be coming back and they would all live, etc, although for a second I thought it would be a BSG moment with all the people trapped on Caprica and Galactica keeping going out in the Galaxy.
Anyways, I didn't catch the preview for next episode lol, I wonder what that one is gonna be about? Water I think is the name of it.

That episode was at best mediocre. I would've liked it more if they missed Destiny and was forced to live on that planet while, say, Rush works out a way to jettison a stargate towards that planet hoping to come back for them one day.

sgu is going way too slow.. by the time they encounter the first "people" or the first "race",
its gonna be the season finale

Definitely the best episode so far....was self-contained, with a beginning, middle and end....some nice character development and drama at times.....
Complaints (yes, I've got a few):
there clearly is some Telford/Young tension, would have loved to have them both on Destiny.....ironically, this would have been a good time to use the communication stones to say goodbye to loved ones, but they didn't.....more of a question than complaint - how did the shuttle get through Destiny's shield?
I'd recommend people to watch it - much better than some of the earlier ones.....it was still nothing to blow me away, but hopefully its a sign of better things to come....just so long as they don't start devoting half an episode to these love triangles they're developing

In fact I believe it was said that they do first encounter other life on the last one or two episodes. I think an entire first season is needed for them to get situated in Destiny, learn all they need to, all the characters to be properly introduced, before an actual antagonist besides the ship and Dr. Rush (for the first few episodes) is introduced.

Im sure it was ale to fly threw them like the Asgard(lost tribe ships)were able to fly threw atlantis's shields on the lost tribe episode were they set off that device that destroys hive ships and has a adverse effect of destroying stargates
How are they that close to a sun and not being blinded and then they go inside it and arent blinded is it the shield?

Last two episodes of the season or series?
If there standing on the observation are and there looks like theres no glass so obviously they need a shield and if they have there shield they obviously have power i love the show but theres alot of holes in the story but o well its stargate so ill enjoy it till the end

Last two episodes of THIS SEASON.
Also, they said there was some power left, enough for Life Support and Shields, just things to keep them alive like that. They didn't know how long it would last though, 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months... They did know though that there was NOT enough power for say FTL or apparently lights (

) or pretty much anything else.

I don't know any more...the last eppy was fairly meh...
I don't quite understand the sex scene with soldier boy and the senator's daughter...
He's already doing one of the othe soldiers, and as far as I can recall...we've only ever seen him and the senator's daughter together onscreen once or twice...
On the other hand, she's been hanging all over Eli for most of the show...
This portrays her in a very different light than they've shown her in so far, as a strong and independent character with good morals...
Again, for me, the best part were the scenes involving the star...
The story was b-level drama...not up to par...
