Except it was on MSN, and not on the forums... it was in a private conversation (private group). We decided to invite Grizz a few days prior because he is the cooliness. It wasn't on the forums where we are actually Mods/Admins. To say we are expected to be angels everywhere we go, like on MSN, is insane. I'm not a Supermod for MSN, and Earendil is not an Admin for MSN. We are on the forums, and this happened on MSN...

Not saying Grizz has no right to start the vendetta because he can do whatever he wants. To say that it disgraces us as members of the staff is asinine though.

What you are failing to see is the fact that you ruined your whole standing as an admin. By saying that you will just veto what the community has chosen as a diplomatic process completely undermines everything that you should believe in.

Eari, you believe that your adminship is a god given right...it's disgusting and a complete disgrace to all in charge here. The forums are in worse shape that they have been in for years - and it's attitudes like yours that will further worsen them.

Whatsmore, did your mother never tell you to treat people how you want to be treated? Just because it's MSN does not mean that you have the right to say that somebody is a *******.

Is this an in-game war or a forum/admin/mod war? Any staff complaints I believe is best placed elsewhere.

No... this thread was made because Grizz threw a hissy fit because I called you a lying piece of **Filtered** I believe in a random chat group with other people who have a sense of humor for the most part we're all finding out nowNOT because of mod actions on the forums

If MSN and forums are not linked, then why talk about players in the game?

You might think its funny to go into group chats and call other players liars but I think that shows a complete lack of respect and is borderline cowardice (when they are not there to defend themselves).

Maybe GrizzZzzly also took offence to you saying his brother would not make a good Ombudsman? Just maybe, he thought you were trying to inappropriately influence the outcome of the election?

might well get back to them,
and I take that into account before I say or do things...
to the best of my ability,

which is a lot more than I can say for most of the staff here.

I think of it as civility and common sense.

I have been called worse. In msn group chats, in private messages, on this forums by people in all positions.

Hey, I do even remember a former admin talking on msn about what a bad GM I would make.

It might not be nice to hear that - I agree.

What I find is laughable is that you lot have expctations and some weird standards how people should act OUTSIDE this forum.

If the forums dictate how you live life away from them ...I think you should quit

I expect to be hold responsbile for things I say on this forum as I have a role to maintain here and some responsibilty.

Whatever I say here, you are free to hold against me and judge me for that.

What I do say in private chats - be they on msn, irc, ts or any other mean are my private business. Not yours but mine. If I think someone is an idiot or would just simply suck at performing a task, you cannot expect me NOT to voice it there just because my name is in orange.

and person with the big mouth is talking vulgar about a friend that big mouth knows is close to me...

then you and everyone else can reasonably expect that not only might I be pissed off,

but that I will very likely be most pissed off...

If it's in an email or a chat, or whatever, that is forwarded to me,

or that I hear about later from a trusted friend,

that's a bit different... but still not a good idea...


this is why half the players I talk to refuse to enter the forums.


I don't think it matters whether your an admin or a simple user,

respect is a two way street.

you want it, you earn it.

you don't want it, then get out of the way.

Deni I really dont care what people call me behind my back.

I`ve allways had a problem with the fact emotionaly invested people get to exert authority and mod in situations logic dictates they cannot be objective in however.

If it were me modding a TL/mh war thread I too could not be objective. Therefore I shouldnt put myself in that position.

You and others allways defend the objectivity and biased nature of mods in these situations when someone raises issues with their modding, but this here is a behind the scenes look at how they`re infact not detacthed but greatly emotionaly invested and with strong preconcieved notions that necessarily color their modding, lending great weight to the constant complaints.

You can argue till you`re blue in the face that its all seperated but lets be realistic here. We`re humans not robots. You cant flip a switch into mod mode and be 100% objective and back to being *filtered* hating an enemy in war or ex alliance mates enemy. Its humanly impossible.

I bet whatever you want that you`d feel discomfort if you walked into a courtroom where you were being judged by a person you overheard blasting and mocking you on the street and whos brother has an outstanding conflict with you.

But since you mods and admins allways stick together on all points, even when it goes against common sense like in this case, what else do you expect to happen?
Sooner or later someone is gonna get fed up and say "that does it, I`m taking this ingame, cos I cant take it anymore". I personaly convinced people out of going after empy for 2 times when people got banned left and right and the thread was policed most heavyhandedly for "spam", before this vendetta finally happened.

Its not as much an attack on mods personalities but on the situation you without sense insist on putting yourself into for no good reason. Just generates conflict.



P.S. And I`m not even going to get into the thing about how its moraly questionable that mods and admins vote and go to great lengts to promote the outcome of an election for a position that is supposedly there to provide independant-ish oversight of your work.
Cos I`m beyond caring for the forum games for the most part, when they dont directly slap me in the face.

Don't get me wrong - if you feel like you want to mass someone. By all means - do it.

Just do not give me some crap reasoning about moral standards a staff member should adhere to OUTSIDE of this forum.
