Alcohol + Idiots + Reason to Riot = Fail.
My parents, neighbours, and myself were watching the game on a big screen via projector and my mother and her friend texted their daughters "Get out before there is a riot."
Of course, my sister was the one who didn't reply to the text and came home at 2 AM.

So ill about the game you turned green, Noobert? Congrats.
There was going to be a riot after Game 7, no matter who lost. The difference is that most people don't expect it of Canadians. If it had been Boston who lost and rioted, no one would be surprised.
I was cheering for Vancouver to win the Cup, but with all the injuries and the lack of calls against Boston, I'm not so surprised by the loss. Well, all of that and **Filtered** Luongo. I will say that 2 of those goals were not his fault. But the first goal was all on him. I'll also say that Vancouver did an amazing job pounding Thomas with shot after shot; they just couldn't get anything past him.
It was a deserved victory for Boston, and I was immensely surprised that the Canuck fans stayed and cheered for the Bruins when they were awarded the Stanley Cup. Sadly, the riots will be remembered more than the fans honoring the opposing team's win. I'm not too cut up about the loss, but it is a little disappointing. I sulked with some Cold Stone ice cream after the game.

I was there.. at the riots.
The media is TOTALLY overplaying it, unless it got significantly worse after I left, which as I was told was minutes before they started using tear gas.
I did however see two cars flipped and burned, and bottles and random objects thrown at police.
I think that the riot could have gone much worse, few people were harmed, so far that I know nobody is confirmed dead. It's something that happens what... maybe once every 17 years

? It's not like the city doesn't have other things that are much more important to be disgusted by. A riot is something that every single person down there knew was happening. People left in the second period of the game, when they were down 3-0 in case of a riot. It could NOT have been avoided. I think Police handled the situation well, the crowds were not too collectively angry rather just a few people doing most of the instigating.
I did get a picture of a burning car, and some of vancouver's finest all dressed up for the ocassion.

Yea, My new idea is they should melt the Stanley Cup down,
(yea, the Stanley Cup that has been treated with little / no respect at all over the years...)
and use the melted silver to help poor kids with cavities...

lol?
What one?
Um, I thought the Stanley Cup had to be passed to the new champions each year...
By the way, Noobert, due to questions regarding Boston's behavior received on my facebook,
could you link us to news articles referencing the horrid Boston fan behavior ?

Hello Visitors.
![[104.gif] :smt104](./images/smilies/104.gif)
On a lighter note, watching the news today, it seems the individuals who started the riots in BC were 'losers' according to the Mayor, anarchists according to the Police Chief, and other individuals agreed with both the Mayor and the Police Chief.
I was watching some footage from the riots, and individuals who come prepared with flammable bombs, and handkerchiefs are not there for Hockey. That's for certain.
And then there are the idiots, like the woman who stole a very expensive purse from a store and then had the 'brains' to show it off on television. I wonder how fast she'll be arrested.

I particularly enjoy the people posing for photographs in front of burned cars/buildings. Easy enough to hunt down for questioning.

My favorite is the pic of the two people kissing on the street with a burning car in the background...

I love that picture because it totally goes to show that it wasn't the "Terrifying horrible and disgusting" event the media makes it out to be. I'm sorry but if it was so terrifying down there, that couple wouldn't have taken the time out to lie on the ground and makeout. Media fails on covering this...

Oh, I highly doubt a couple wouldn't have taken the time to do that. People were drunk as balls, and stupid as hell.

Couldn't help but give a chuckle,
When Luongo choked again.
Some players are born winners.
He's not one of them.
He was born with a very small throat.
But I congratulate them on making the finals.
There will always be a next year with Lu!
Congrats to Boston,
Some great effort and hard work payed off.
