It's none of my business in regards to your personal plans but the main meet at least we'd aim to be in a pub/bar where we an sit, drink (maybe eat) and most importantly...talk, converse and exchange pleasantries. SO music choice will ideally be something that's played at a volume you can still think and talk over and it'd be something you can actually stomach opposed to some leather bound monstrosity attempting to eat the microphone or scare small children etc etc..
We'd probably aim to meet early-late afternoon (3/4pm) get an hour or two of drinking/waiting in then eat and drink more. So about 7pm would be the time to probably throw an event in.. when we've all become accustomed to one another (although some of us are already familiar).

Is it a metro system or/and tramway in Manchester btw?
I don't know if being familiar from MSN counts...I guess not?

The meet is meant to be one day-only or is it over weekend?

Woot!
Tram tickets (or whatever else is used for non usual tram users) can be bought at tram stations right? It's silly question but I prefer to ask to be sure.

You buy tram tickets on the platform before you board Jim. Doubt you'll even need to bother using one though to be honest - it's quite good fun to walk through Manchester centre. Of course though, if you want to use one just to say you have been on a tram in Manchester then fair enough!
Semps, what the general crack then? I'm leaving all this in your capable hands!

there's a free shuttle bus in the city centre as well that has routes going by everything, wouldn't really use the tram on inner city trips and most things are walking distance anyway

I can't think of a bowling place in Manchester. Perhaps we should keep the meet just to socialising/drinking/eating and those who wish to absorb the 'culture' can do it in their own time. It saves disagreements on where to go and what to do.

FINE! No bowling! Ice skating? Dry slope skiing? Snooker? Street fighting?

Yeah I know what you mean but if your going for a while constant drinking leads to a mess. Its nice to break it up with another activity and its also more of a conversation piece.

I'll be getting the train in from Blackburn, having a full days session and stumbling back onto the train. Don't really care what the rest of you do as long as I get to at least meet you all!
