so:
10,000 Lifers
10,000 Untrained Units
10 billion naq in the bank
2K non-transferable AT's
2000 Raw UP

I like this a lot, except I would only give 5 billion, make them work for some of their naq

Ten bill would get them a decend def, and maybe a tech or two, not much more.

does new players really need to have good def ? nooone will mass a little def (wich cost same amount of ATS than a big one) only to steal 2-3 bil naq or 100-200k uu

if the new guy is active, there is no really need of a great def in first days/weeks

A point well made. My only rebuttle would be it would depend on the account. If it was real active and real daring it make hit live target and therefore need a defense. For the most part I do tend to agree with you.

to be honest the amount of empty accounts with 0 defence making 200mill naq a turn I dont think we need to give them anything...

I mean I remember when I started with my buddy and we were racing to get a mothership... how much did they cost? 450million naq?

You can get 2-3x's that now with 15 AT really really easily... the only thing I would say to give new accounts is 2k AT... more AT give them more growth... simple...

Why not set a default that accounts that are under 1 million cannot attack accounts bigger then that.
And, those above 1 million cannot hit accounts under 1 million.

This will then at least give players time enough to grow.

I must admit, when you start to get into 40-50 million plus armies, a lot of the fun goes as I can remember when I was a 500K size, I used recon a lot more and it was more enjoyable as you had to rely on attacking/fraiding rather then just go on ppt and get 300bil plus for looking at a screen.

Anyone could hit you without concerns of being massed by the alliance, NAPS being broken etc. Memories... :D

all of this isn't really necessary. i'm a newbie. all a newbie has to do is trade 3 MTs for 1680 ATs. Logical since newbies can't use market functions 1st 2 weeks. they then buy 1weapon and train one attack soldier and off he goes farming. all newbies really need is for someone to point this out to them. which is why i posted this: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=113463

exactly just give them 2k+ of turns and they can get several hundred k of units and naq from raiding

I didn't have any problem with the 3 uu and what ever the starting naq was. The biggest problem I had was the poorly written help&rules page for newbies getting started with training the uu. After I figured out training was 1 for 1 in each catagory and supers were converted from regulars, everything else was easy. Didn't take long at all to go from rank 60k to 8k.

I'm not a forum junky and when I finally did register to ask a question, it took more than a day to get approved so I could post my question. Had I been a 1 or 2 day newbie and needed help, I probably would have quit right then and there out of frustration. How many more potential players already have? Just look at the numbers in the ranking. It would be interesting to see the join date and last active date on a lot of these accounts.

Oh I fully agree with you there mate, and ascended was far, far worse.

I've suggested many times that a game account automaticly comes with a forum account, and upon logging in the first 1 to 10 times you should get a redirect to forums.
