The same sort of thinking can be applied to you. All you people are trying to force everyone else to make this stargatepeace and a passive player's paradise where more proactive and agressive players have no place or purpose and have to play your game by your rules.

Funny that you try take the high horse without mentioning that by labelling anyone who attacks without YOUR approval or extent of justification as bullies [who shouldn't be that way or deserve to play], you are doing the exact same thing you are accusing them of.

What right in the rules, do Passive people have that if they don't tread on toes, they can't magicallly be attacked? This is a wargame, you knew what you were signing up for. Here is a post I made a long time ago in the Educators thread [Who are a collection of players with the same line of thought, not TLE so don't confuse the two.]
If You Build it, They will come.

This is a Strategic war game where things built are meant to be destroyed. If you are massed for any reason with or without justification, I don't see why you should complain as thats what the games meant to be about. Blowing things up. War, conflict, an ever present danger and just general chaos. You can fight back, ask for help but to tell someone that an agressive playstyle is wrong or bullying is just absurd in my opinion.

Somehow the notion of massing became taboo without full justification, people become too content and passive with watching numbers grow and replaced the spirit of the game with ironclad moral protection going completely against the nature of this genre. To protect the new, to make it pointless to be strong, to condem bigger players from ever using their strength making it a small players game and to limit those who have worked hard, limit war, limit agression and generally change this from a wargame to something akin to a bank account watching the interest/stats grow over time.

In which case you are better off dragging out a calculator, hitting 1 and typing +1 hitting enter for hours on end watching your number incriment all day without fear of retribution.

Now Stat Building is a style of play and is a valid style don't get me wrong. But then so too is random massings or agressive behaviour, a valid style and has every right to be just as accepted. For Too Long people have tried to Tame the game and server. For too long they have grown decadent and content and soft.

The Beast has broken its chains and been unleashed once again. DDE was the first and most consistent to see the reasoning behind this but others are now seeing the light in which the game should return to.

Your realms will be Disarmed
Your people will feel Dispair
Your armies will meet Disaster
And Your generals will know Defeat...

For The Educators are comming to teach the Server some lessons...
Now as for calls of general bullying and power corrupts I had to have a giggle. It's rather convienient to not mention that small to mid strength alliances using your terms, "bully" other small to mid strength alliances and enmass if you actually see whats going on. That players in almost every alliance are willing to be "immoral" and "agressive" and that this behaviour is not restricted to just TLE and FUALL. They hit without reason, they hit for something they caused, they use double standards, they are vocal and use their position to have their way with another alliance.

If you went through every war this server has had, you'll quickly find that the whole server is generally guilty as sin a hundred times over of the things you accuse the two super powers of. It's a funny thing that everyone tends to forget this and instead uses this excuse on the two superpowers to fill in their own inadequacies and sense of powerlessness in that they won't hit them ingame and instead seek out forums to mass with words and try to tar their image instead for a sense of false gratifiction and pride in that you sure showed those superpowers with that post.

Are the SuperPowers knights in shining armour? No. But they did work aufully hard to get where they are and it took extreme organisation, time, work and most of all friendship and loyalty that lasts the strains of time to get where they are. The reward for that? Being afflicted with the tall poppy syndrome in which they are in the spotlight and their actions and put out of context and judged by a community who are just as guilty.

I can't speak for FUALL, but in TLE for each public thing seen, there were perhaps 10 that were solved in a friendly and diplomatic manner. Now thats a damn good ratio but every time we do something good, that isn't posted and the one time something is "immoral" or "agressive" by your standards, its as if thats all they do which is a woefully inaccurate statement. They have set and fair policies for those select events which again are utterly ignored by the apparent victem when he cries foul.

Again more false assumptions and a case of if its moaned about loudly enough, it must be true. The high pedistal we are supposed to be on was never a position TLE chose or preached. Blahh and Svarun made TL(E) and they know the reasons and I find it funny that others actually tell them why it was made as if they're some professional with insight. People saw TLE as an opportunity they desired and sook to use TLE to achieve their own ends and complete their own agenda. When they realised that TLE was an independant group playing for friendship, and not dancing to their tune, they cry foul again based off assumptions that they themselves have projected onto the community.

Instead of moaning, why not be proactive?

If you are massed, why not ask their policies and deal with it diplomatically to the best of your ability, weighing up your options and making an informed decision instead of running to forums right away without having tried anything and often after having been abusive to them.

Instead of complaining about the superpowers, and never being able to catch up, why not talk to other players and alliances? Go about forming your own coalition or superpowers. Is it a lot of work? Yes. But the other two were willing to do it and you can't really complain unless you put in the effort and at least try.

Instead of saying Agressive is bad, and trying to make everyone play their game, take a step back and think that those players feel the same thing and frustration when bound by your views of a passive game.

Instead of seeing a thread of xyz massed abc and assuming thats all they do, have a moment of open thought and think about the sheer amount of things they have to deal with and just how many are resolved with positive results that never see the light of forums.

Most people are closing or more like slamming doors shut by themselves and then complaining that they can't make it to the second floor like this alliance or that player.

To me, it appears a lot of people are expecting a silver bullet to drop out of nowhere and make all their problems go away if they scream loud enough. Not many people seem willing to put the large amount of work it takes and try to achieve things and instead choose the easily option of just moaping around on forums all day, waiting for another hate train which they can take an easy ride on for pot shots at person x or alliance Y to get their kicks and just expecting their way to happen without any effort or energy.

Go out and give it a try instead of feeding only on the heresay on main forums. There's a whole galaxy of opportunities and experience waiting for you and you never know, 6 months down the track, you too could be the next rising star.

Edit: Apologies for the bad english, pulled two all-nighters and the caffeine is working its magic. Will fix it up when i've had a nap.

I only have one problem with all that, The educators and some other players are massing because they are bored and want to "teach" people how they should play, You may think it's all just fine because it's a war game, but a large part of the game is about roleplay, and if players just say "i'm gonna do this because i can and it's a war game" then it ruins the idea of the roleplay completely.

I once hit pipi one time, I had not hit any other TLE members in my 10 day attack log. He went to Galen (Thufir_Hawat), and got him to mass me. If that's not backing down from a 1v1 I don't know what is. Nonsense like this and other stuff like double standards, extortion, and bullying that I've personally experienced is why I turned against TLE. This is one of the reasons I've descended TLE members, farmed and massed them, and TLE members like SatyricoN is down to 500m and won't be back up to 2b to farm other people for 2+ weeks. I would also like to think that this has some role in 5 TLE members being on vacation mode in ascended and I suppose perhaps maybe also in main.

Yeah about 2 bil planets in 2 days :D but that how much I lose everytime in 3 weeks I think so no worries I'm not depressed :D most of ppl are happy for that and I need to get turns back anyway, so that's my way of play xD I don't use turns to mass much if I'm not in war... on ascended ofcourse, turns are to value for farming hehe. I give you extra point for doing what you're doing ;)

About Jeff, well I agree with you about some things, for other things I don't know so I won't say anything. About that time that Svarun was in Omega I didn't even know what SGW is or Omega at least :) And yes power corrupts that's true... that's why I left TDL... I hate random massings just can't help myself ;) I remember once Zesh massed someone and I meantiond this on TLE forum... well I was the one who screwed... I was pissed off hehe... But TL fits for me now.

@ETL, don't know if Svarun was a traitor or not, far as I know he is the greatest teacher and for me personaly greatest player. Of course I don't know all others. He was my teacher and he still is (thanks god :P )! I think you are still the most powerful in SGW as personality... nobody in TLE will have those kind of power you have... we are just too democratic ;) and old saying is that all great empires falls... well Omega is doing very good at this point ;)

I remember I came in TL, on creation day... yeah Omega was unhappy becouse of that. They though TL is to fight against that... we werent, we just wanted to play normaly, didn't want to make difference much but wars just makes difference. And yes I think Omega isn't evil... not at all... I did once when I saw they are massing randomly, but if I would hate those who does that I would hate bigger part of TDL :)

At least... we are still playing and have still our own friends our own paths etc. We are standing for what we believe. For Rome... not like ex AE who tried to compile with TLE to come in and so on... now most of them are in delta... woooo such a COP haters at that time... ironic isn't it? Not that they are bad, they just tried to use power of others so they would be corrupted without much of work :P well not whole AE of course ;)

Everyone plays their own style and there is no rule how you must play it... here are no laws except about cheating, scripts etc. So every type of playing is the right type of playing.

@Omega: Don't know why Omega was created or what did they do but if they did what they said they did I'm fine with that. And even if Admin is great there are lots of holes that cheaters may abuse and I think he does much as he can. There are just more cheaters then admins ;)

Lots of ppl who said about power corrups when we rised came into some empire FUALL or TLE... so they are corrupted too... I believe there are dreams of the most of the players to be in one of these two camps.

But it's logic... if you have a gun why won't you use it? he's beating you with baseball bat and you have a gun... shot him... oooo geee ? lol
If you get massed for farming bigger players... well ok, you won't kick a bear in his as would you? lol...

That's about it :)

Regards,

Satyricon

P. S. Go TA!!! :D

Is everyone in TLE going for poster of the year? :-D

Anyways, these two super powers are wayyyy different. We all have our strengths and (if any) weaknesses.

I dunno why everyone says we're the same.

I says it them and their alliance gets massed by FUALL AND TLE. See if we're the same then

I would like to see what the game was like if each alliance had a 30 member max limit and was allowed one training alliance. No naps or group pacts, things might be less stagnant that way :)

And a war between TLE and 'those other people' probably wouldnt be as fun as it sounds.

you do know we started this game with no alliances and yet we still all had "secret" alliances just figuring out who belonged to who was the hard part

guh.
When are people going to see the truth!
for all the idiots out their, this is how it works

TLE is Omega
Omega is TLE

now go spend the next six(6) months working that out, and quit whining on the forum about how great the two alliances are.

maybe just maybe if you stop whining on the forum so much about it....your applications might not get laughed at again
