Sorry. Please forgive my propagandist use of hyperbole. Lets say you get into g&r points pretty easy....then you start raiding - if you're good and ignore social norms about computer time (which lets face it, social norms don't apply here

) you can be making double figure millions of uu a week. Ascending is no problem - you do it with the absolute minimum, as fast as possible. This account, within a month (maybe longer, my apologies) is quite capable of massing a rank 1 account.....
Now compare that with how "veterans" got there - no raiding in the early days, so growth purely on UP - ascension actually mattering so throwing everything you could into ascending. Growth is ridiculous at the moment....do you not understand why random massings happen? Why "veterans" don't care about losses and take out the entirety of page 1 for laughs? Because growth is ridiculously easy.

I would say you need to be rather a talented and determined raider to make an account that good, that fast. but in saying that it wouldnt take somebody long to gain a big enough army to create mayhem in the upper ranks.

In all the time I played this game (since right after beta ended) and playing several accounts within that time I have say that Jason is a fool for not only taking ideas from idiots without altering them for the benefit of the game not for the benefit of the few, but also not listening to the people for who he is making the game for, and not actually talking to his players!
He needs to get knee deep with the players he depends on, its the least respect he can show, not just this "man behind the curtain act" we are all used to with many games out there right now, I know only of one which the admin actually has a human face and lets people know his MSN, etc (PM me for info if you wish).
I think if Jason did that in a way, then he would be able to see how his actions affect everyone. I don't care for this game enough to care if you guys want to mass me for stating the plain fact in front of my eyes. I see that he is only talking with a few in regards to updates, and that few hold the money because of MSN Trades, and they happen to be in the major factions/coalitions so "they must be worth more than the smaller person" in his eyes...
If he actually allowed himself to be viewed as human that he definitely is, and not the god he pretends to be, he would understand what is needed to be changed. In fact, he should bring advisers onto team which talk with the every one, including the smaller folks and then bring the concerns in summary to Jason, if that helps a bit more than not. Because face it, ONE Liaison for the entire game?! Its rediculous!
We need to start getting surveys from the what you call "oldies", "middies" and "newbies" to see how the game is affecting everyone and then compile it all and get things rolling with providing updates that would benefit the community and new players more...
WHAT SAY YE?
Tetrismonkey wrote:So how about this then.
We have figured out what the problems are, and discussed solutions, but how would we go about getting the solutions heard to the right people to updated the game right. How would we go about getting the players of today to change there ingame policys? Should the updates happend first and see if that corrects the polotics or should we as a community Mature first, from the random massings and have some restraint when massing, warring and so forth? Will Honor come back to players? It takes 1 bold step to start a change, so whos willing to make that first bold step?
This also a good point, we as a people also need to step our game, and effect the game as well, so that the updates will benefit what we desire in the game...

Admin Jason is available to talk to for several times every Wednesday on IRC.
If you want to talk to him, you can always seek him out
As for getting anything changed ingame? The weekly meetings on IRC are the best place to do it.
For the community, I have no idea

One day out of the week? My my that's an admirable show of peeping his head out from behind the curtain... Its a start, and the fact that he doesn't more is what I find interesting... Cause I know for a fact that a game admin can code and talk at the same time, and get it right the first time with missing ';'s where they should have been... Trust me I know from experience... I code and talk on MSN with 15-30 windows up at a time, and still get the coding done quite well...

But yeh, I guess I just wish he would have a more human aspect of the game, because everyone has this "hush its Jason" attitude lately, I see more talk on MSN than I see on here cause their afraid it will get traced back...
ADDENDUM: As per the community, I am referring to the game as a whole and how it interacts...

Jason needs to get a guage on things and the game by talking with others, and then properly plan out the updates, not just taking the idea and throwing it in... A good admin always modifies the idea, and puts a twist that will bring benefit and loss as well, keeping it a challenge...

I beleve that the game is slowly dying, give it a year and ill bet main is like ascended.
by the looks of it we have some inactive admins (attack abilety down for 2 days) whitch doesnt help the game either.
at`s needs to be limited not unlimited.

You are fooling yourself if you think this community can and will change.
There's a lot of people here that need to grow up and have a bit more respect, but that's never gonna happen.

Me being a php programmer, I had to shake my head at the poor response to that bug... It should have taken 5 minutes tops to check to ensure that the attack script ran well, its why I always have an account on all my websites I program whether they are a game or for another use... Admin Jason just doesn't give a frack about you or me, but when profits start dropping oh boy does he listen! Some of my sites barely pay for themselves yet I listen to to the customers concerns in regards to playability or efficiency... Hell, its usually takes me 1.5 minutes to correct a bug when I upload the updated files, and see that it has a bug...

Can Jason say that same? I don't think so? Sorry Jason, but we want faster response on bug fixes, and faster updates, more features that actually work to help everyone and bring the new players up to speed! And unless you do the bugs in attack script on purpose, you need to stop forgetting to a ';' like a newbie programmer...

The community can be 'trained', with updates that actually affect them... We have had the ability to farm/mass for so little for so long, its become habit and people start wars to liven up their boring accounts only to find that their accounts are not affected as much as their egos are... And hell yes, I haven't posted on here in forever because I have had no desire to deal with the egotistical bullcrap that people love throwing around, like monkeys do feces...

This is not the place for discussion of the bug.
For all we know Jason could have had a RL emergency over the weekend and everyone here could be complaing just because a stupid game doesn't function properly. Like I said this community will never change.

surely that doesn't explain why the bug with the war of attrition still exists after several months now

Yeh, well in the time I have been here, lately bugs have been getting worse, I just gritted my teeth and bared it because I had hope it would not happen again... You can ask anyone on MSN, how many bugs have been occurring lately, and well its amazing how frustrated people get with it... lol... But yeh, its time to sit back and watch from the back burner for a little bit, gotta run to do some coding for one of my sites... Wasted to much time on this site for now...
