Well current summary of plans...

MEET: Manchester Piccadilly Station, Friday 2nd March, 2012 for 3pm (I'll probably try get there at 2pm to catch any early birds).

MOVE TO BAR: 4pm. Still tba as for exact location. Somewhere close anyway.

Drink until Dinner: 4pm - 6pm

FOOD: 6-7pm

Activity (optional): 7pm

More Drink: 9pm+

Hmmm that's a bit early for me, especially for Friday considering my schedule (I still don't know if I'll have a test the morning). I will arrive when I can, and I think it would probably be 4 pm - 5 pm GMT

I will be crossing the border March 1st, my legions will follow 2 hours later.
I will send messengers to all corners of the Empire to announce my crossing said border.

Thats fine, people can arrive whenever they can as we will be staying close to the meeting point for a good few hours I would think.

Does this mean you have booked flights? What on earth will you do for a whole day?

Thinking about one important thing now, how will we communicate to know when/where/what to do, close to the move (day of) and when we are around/in Manchester?
I personally don't have a modern mobile (2007 Sony Ericsson V630i) therefore my internet usage is limited, thus it can only be with calls/SMS...aware of costly prices but well, it's my only options for my current situation.

Jim, you could pick up a SIM from an o2 store once you arrive in the country and put £10 on it for unlimited o2 to o2 texts. A hefty percentage of people are on o2, so you wouldn't have to worry about racking up a roaming bill on your own carrier. Aside from free texts, your calling credit is all yours too anyway, so you can use that for people on Orange/T-Mobile whatever. 12 pence a text is the rate these days. I'll PM you number if you want (I'm on o2).

Ah, I am on SFR/Vodafone with this phone, well I will take your advice in mind and see what I can do with this option.
My main issue wasn't even the cost but the way to communicate the day I move, when I moved and when I'm in Manchester. Means I will have to grab a few numbers and give mine to few people if I don't want to run around in circles when I'm in Manchester lol!!
Fortunately I know already how few of you look like so I wouldn't have issues to recognize you during my running in circles!

You can get your phone unlocked (if it isn't already SIM free) for £5 pretty much anywhere. I could do it for you for nothing but you won't be near Blackburn. I don't see why you can't unlock the phone in France though, come to think.

Anyway, I don't even know how the majority of people attending/possibly attending look like nor do they know about me, might make things a bit difficult lol!

Don't fret Jim. You know what I look like at least. If there's going to be quite a few of us then it's imperative we are all in the right place. Hell, even wear name badges, or hold up a card for clarities sake.

Everyone can exchange numbers beforehand, and it shouldnt be too hard to recognize people. We could share pics before hand I guess if you want to but im sure it would be fine without. Dan is coming dressed as an asgard so he should be easy to spot

I am not that hard to identify either, considering the lineup.

I will give my mobile number out to all attending soon enough via private message. If you're arriving by flight there should be copious numbers of outlets to purchase a sim card from most UK airports, O2 generally offer cheap sim cards for about £10, otherwise one can usually use their normal international sim cards, however the texting/ringing DOES cost a steep penny.


Plans will be laid in stone by the end of this week.. then you'll have a month to collect and persuade as many people as possible to come AND to save your cash and make sure you can attend yourself. No one else has objected so 2nd March it's going to be.


@Jim. Don't worry about being a little late... it's the UK. We'll all have internet phones or summit lmao (DR was massing the last time he was drinking with me and Buck) so we can get in touch via many means to help you out.
