It seems people pick and choose who they like and dont like as scammers.

People say scammers deserve what RoKeT did, and none of you are exactly pleasant towards Fenrir, yet you are happy go continue to welcome Harchester in this community. Did he scam someone because they scammed others? No.

Atleast when I say scammers are scum I mean everyone that scams and not pick and choose who I like just like you lot do.

I'm still with Clarkey at this point and always will be, i have never been scammed, i know its a very real risk, and i'm naturally cautious. If i was silly enough to not to get (at least 5) references from a trader and do my in depth background check, and then pay half now half after i have the stuff for example and got scammed, i would not trade with the scammer again, however i would NOT scam my stuff back from him/her i would simply write it off as a bad debt. If someone was to offer my stuff back for free after i had written it off i would share it with my alliance (as i had already written it off it wouldn't cause a shortfall in my accounts to ignore it and share it with alliance mates).

In the real world business's have an account called allowance for doubtful debt, this account is sort of a safeguard, your know you wont get all of your creditors to pay you so you put some aside for the inevitable bad debt that you will suffer at some point. NO one that i know of does this in this game bar myself, and i don't really trade much.....

Scamming someone bad for a good cause is never that simple, there are always repercussions eg. If i was to steal for a nasty Dictator and give the money to charity, he will go on a killing spree. If i was to steal money from a big corporation that was exploiting child labor and give to charity, well the company might go down, thousands of people would lose their jobs, homes, their children would be hungry and homeless.

My point is this, who are we to take these things into our own hands when we wont ever know the full extent of the damage it will do, robin hood got people killed...

If you want scamming to stop, do it the right way, have we tried signing a petition, creating a union, going on strike, if all active accounts hit vac for a week, i'm sure mods would be more willing to implement ideas for anti-scamming measures that people have suggested.

A "he stole so its ok for me to steal back" mindset is just down and out wrong, its at this time i quote the bible, "thou shalt not steal" tho religion might not be for everyone, the 10 commandments, no mater if your christian or not, guide a better way for life.

The only thing i have learnt from this thread is that more people are morally ambiguous than i originally thought.

actually RoKeT has been scammed in the past (by Harch), it was this feeling and seeing others effected by Fenfirs actions that led him think to make things right to those that Fenrir scammed by scamming Fenrir and returning some of his ill gotten gains to his victims...

Roket's heart is good, his intent was good.. he actions however questionable..

actually RoKeT has been scammed in the past (by Harch), it was this feeling and seeing others effected by Fenfirs actions that led him think to make things right to those that Fenrir scammed by scamming Fenrir and returning some of his ill gotten gains to his victims...

I believe it's your opinion that means little to nothing mate at this point... get off your high horse, your opinion is no more valueable then anyone elses, so don't go around mentioning the value of what other people say...

And as for your comments regarding hellsing, thats absolute rubbish... There is no "contract" you owe what you owe... debt doesn't just erase because you did the wrong thing and the person who loaned you your amount raised the alarm? What a joke...

Hellsing loaned that naq for a set time period, he then shouted scammer way before that time period was up, he had no grounds to claim scammer and he deserved to lose that naq because he broke his own agreement.

RoKeT is right not to give back to him.

And Seph, read properly, I said it means little value to me, I didnt say little value in general. I have every right to say whose opinion means little value to me.

Apart from the fact you are a Mod and breaking the forum rules by making personal attacks Clarkey.

Bottom line is this thread is about Roket asking for people to come forward if they got scammed. Everything else in this thread is off topic and for once it would be nice if the mods actually did their job and kept the thread on topic instead of breaking the forum rules by repeatedly going off topic and personally attacking people.

Lock the thread, clean the comments that have nothing to do with what Roket was asking for then re-open it and shut the hell up.

Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one and they usually stink.

If anyone wants to stand up for said scammer, I'm sure you can go ahead and 'sit' on roket til he quits or something. Otherwise, this whole discussion is irrelevant. Its not like roket's going on a personal crusade to scam every single past scammer in this game, nor is he planning to scam others. I really dont see what the problem is.

Fenrir seems like a total jerk, openly stating his intention to scam again. Who cares if he lost $80, he got it through ill gotten means.

Maybe to make the naysayers feel better, we can set up a fund to help that poor fellow fenrir recoup some of his loss. Anyone?

Not defending Fenrir but none of you can say with 100% certainty that he would have scammed again if RoKeT hadn't scammed him.

All RoKeT did was encourage him to continue. Whether he intended to continue or not is irrelevant.
