Odds are it'll be like the RESPECT! usergroup.

A fad for a month at most, then forgotten.

we need bad guys
and dumb guys
and smart guys
and good guys
it is a rpg

My guess, is those who defend it are likely to do it, that is why the don't want it stopped.

Sure we need bad guys, but gimme a break mass a MFin defence or something not telling somebody they have to give you half their army or else. That is why I'm in the war because people can bully other people around like that. And I want it stopped.

I know this goes on to a degree. I hate to see it happening to new players. I have see it from demanding naq and uu to being sat on until you delete your account unless.... The being sat on I have seen backfire and the person being sat on comes out stronger than the one sitting on them. Also once you have played for a while you can rebuild if someone does this to you but new player have very little base to recover off of. Things change constantly in this game and alliances and frindships change too. There is a good chance that at some point you may be sitting above the person that did this to you and have a chance to get back at them. We are playing a game so some degree of villian is tolerable. If it forces someone to have to quit or makes it so miserable that they woud quit that is when you need to stop and think if you are the one making the demand. Why are you forcing someone from a game. Games are meant to be fun.

if it becomes too widespread it will ruin the game.

while its true that demanding goods...
is not good its shoudl not be up to forum to solve it.
if so many people are against it do something,
help smaller players stand up against such behavior. mass people that try these tactics.

dont go and say add a game featrure and its better.

I have massed many peopel for tryin to use these tactics and u know who u are. Some have even posted. but so far there has be a down fall in some activity of the extortion.


And for the record i never accepted payment to stop massing from neone. Ne things i have requested were to make the person seem like that had a hope of it stopping with tehre assistance. it only stopped becuase i got bored of them and moved on.

since many people don't visit the forum and many of those are newbies with little to no back up at all it stands to reason they have no where to turn to and feel bullied...
how about having a section of the forum where people being threatened can post and request help?

i would imagine that none of the big guys feel the need to extort from anyone, hence this problem must be because of the mid ranked players trying to act bigger than they are!

a simple message sent to all giving a link to a part of the forum where newbies can request help without having to register on the forum would be a good idea....or is it???

Also by demanding , naq & uu if they doesn't pay and u sit on them it most likely they will make another account than they become multi's and starting to bother u for planets .

Althougt I'm not saying this is the main basis that actually created multi's but I do think that how Multi's existed by being sat on their old accounts ...

why do i think it that way , simple actually is if the let their old account stand the sitter will not be paying attention to hes new account so actually I thinkc sitting on someone hes account only creates more multi's witch is badly not good for the game ...

and demanding UU & Naq , their are some reasons by demanding that , like desturbed_one mentiont , if someone bothers ur officer , I do think most of the Commanders will be demanding repairs ...

specialy from big players on new players as like ya say will discurage players from staying and more players can only be better for every1.

i think some have sugested a policing of it by stronger players

maybe a set of ranks where only a certain amount of army and power is alowed that attacks from ranks above this cannot happen unless the lower ranked player makes an attack above the ranks.
and when he is about too leave those ranks due too size / power they get a warning saying you are now leaving the protection of the n00b zone.

maybe that would alow newer players some time too grow and get used too game polotics before the vultures jump on htem and demand stuff or get bullied

Plus, in what ways is being polite going to kill someone, especially their account? I think another such post by Aviter mentioned that surrendered members can still cheer for CoP, just don't be nasty to CIA.

This is a wargame and an role playing game , maybe the role you are
playing is the extortionist..

i DO think this is a BIG problem. BUT, every case is a case.

i'm completaly against extortion in any kind.
if some1 hit you for 1 Bill naq, NO you don't have the right to ask half of his defence to not be massed, thats wrong, i coude acept you ask the NAQ + REPAIR + DEATH rate and a apologies. more than that IS extorcion, is bullying, is wrong, and in RL you woude end in a jail for that.

BUT for a rule, thats imposible to check. players will start do that from MSN, and if i say for example that ETL did with me, show some "FAKE" Logs and than send he some UNITS to make my case? i just got ETL punished for somehting i make up.

SO, i don't agree, BUT i don't think it shoude be a rule.

wanna solve this isue? never pay to that, be massed 50 times, but never pay.
use the naq to hire some1 to mass the guy. i will even make a special price if you hire me.
