Not with all or indeed MANY alliances, but it is tolerated to an extent that if you merely disagree with the wrong person on the forums your stats are forfeit.

Now, depending on HOW you disagree, and what degree of behavior you show when doing so, it might be deserved, however what has a game come too when you get threatened for simply stating your opinion.

And can ANYONE here say they truly appreciate a forum were you get attacked (personally or in game) for having a divergent opinion.

You are quite right there sir.

Over the past couple of years it has become a forum fact that if you speak out to the wrong person then you will pay for it in game or by getting abused verbally.

There was a time when you could disagree on this forum and still get along with people in general because there was a sense of community among everyone here, but that just doesn't exist these days.

Indeed. That was back when the mods knew what they were doing, that or cared so little that they simply didnt interfere.

It used to be that threads never got locked unless they were way out of line, and threads wernt moved as much either (of course there wasnt a bajillion subfourms for each topic back then eitehr)


Anyone else think the fourm would be BETTER served if we went back to the old days of general being for almost anything ?

Keep the subfourms, but as long as it relates to the game or the community, keep it.

If the inital topic ceases to be the topic being discussed, who cares, mods stay out of the thread and let it live or die naturaly, that is a good part of what killed the community here, no more (or for a while) have we been able to take a semi old thread and 'spam' it with a conversation.

Hell, even SIDEBAR spam (discussing something offtopic) tends to wind up deleted these days, and banned accouts get flat out deleted, which means entire reams of posts are lost forever.

That said the mods are far from solely responsible, the community has also degraded to a large extent, however the mods ARE to blame for being to ineffecteve to do anything, and admins such as pookie are even more to blame thru their lack of action.

Instead, you stick around as an ineffective admin who stood idily by while the fourm burned, and the only STRONG stance you ever took was against those who DARED to speak up to you saying 'this dog wont hunt'.

I for one plan to be thefirst to post a 'dont let the door hit you on the way out pookie' thread when you leave, because you ARE that ineffecteve.
