The whole tournament is a joke if you think about it in terms of how they pretty much arrange the fixtures and likely winner. Clubs are seeded to start, so you never see two real heavy weights in one group and the knock out stages are pre-defined. Why can't they be drawn randomly? Or is Fat Sepp Blatter scared of of randomly drawing heavyweight vs heavyweight matches, seeing one leave too soon for him. Oh what a travesty if a country like for example Ghana were to feature in the final huh because they got the luck of the draw? ... Happens all the time in domestic tournaments, and it's good. It's the beauty of the draw.

How many nations enter the qualification process? Is it something like 192? Why don't they just play it all in a knock out like the FA Cup. Dumb as **Filtered**.

My team ( Australia ) bowed out but my money is on Germany although they will have a tough match against Argentina on Saturday.

You consider Netherlands to be simple and easy team? :smt108

Well dude, lets be honest here, the main contenders are Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Spain and Portugal.

Every other team is just there as part of the entertainment, to keep the world cup going more then a few days.

Its nothing personal man, Im an ozzy and even Australia is a simple team compared to the 5 greats i mentioned above.

Just have a look at Netherlands team and you will understand why they deserve to be the sixth team. :-D

And Louis there's always a "death group"...would you want a death group such as England/Germany/Brazil/Argentina instead to have less "easy" wins?.. :P

Oh, how i'd like Nederland to have a revenge in this tounament after so many loses against Brazil in the past...

I don't see Portugal as a favourite... also Spain is overrated...

Uruguay is the ulgiest (game play) team after Paraguay to qualify in the quarters....

So, my favourites to win are Argentina or Germany, which one qualifies... i hope Germany...

Ghana doesn't stand a chance, no offence... they lack experience... but if they will make a surprise, they will be a good one... i don't like how Uruguay plays.

I want Germany to win, because:

1. i like the german people
2. they are Europeans
3. i don't want Brazil to get the 6th WC Championship
4. i want Germany to have 4 WCC like Italy
5. Germany except in '98 when they lost to Croatia in the last 16s, on every WC has qualified at least in the quarters... top 8... they are built winners... respect

I want Germany to win because they are superior.

However, if they happen to lose to their only slightly lesser brethren, that's fine by me too.

And yes, I mean the Dutch.

Although the way we're treating our country, one would debate the superiority of our people.. we've opened the gates for all sorts of filth.

Football wise, Brazil are superior in long term. Yes Germany scored many goals this time, but Argentina did too.
I don't want to see the win again...would prefer to see some outsider win it.

I agree... but the ball is round... i like that saying: "England invented the football, Nederland and Brazil made an art from it, but Germany wins" :-D
