I am ~Odin~ leader and Co-Creator of The Collective an alliance that has been around for several years, We have been in many wars since our start in gatewars and only once have we surrendered in this game under The Collective banner. We had planned to take on TAAE the TAF training alliance upon reflecting it is clear that we should have tried more of a diplomatic approach to solve our issues with said alliance. One thing lead to another and steps were taken before it was thought over correctly, this lead to the war being OE+TC vs TAF. My alliance has taken a beating and many of my members have either gone to vac mode due to this time of the year or have been removed due to inactivity, We are no longer in any shape for a war.
The Collective surrenders to TAF and wishes to open the path for diplomatic resolution and prevent something like this happening again.

I think, for TC to surrender and why not for OE

.. or I don't know what.
Cause for sure, there is no fun in waiting.

No use waiting for that, even if they want to surrender I imagine we will wait until OE want to as well before they can.
While this may be my personal view, TAF HC and TAF as a whole are not a monarchy and as such we will obviously need to discuss amongst ourselves before we talk to you about a possible withdrawal from the war. Your entrance into the war as well as actions and words after it lead to some in TAF being displeased and taking a similar viewpoint as myself. I hope, for your alliance's sake, that you have not burned too many bridges to prevent TC from withdrawing.

Thank you bmmj and dgb for the posts, I understand then point you have both put forward and understand. I'm more then willing to chat on msn to hash out any issues or anything, I understand that i may have burnt at least one bridge and in the past some things might have been said in the heat of the moment but that does happen to everyone. I have had great convo's with dgb and smug for examples and they are both great people and plan to continue a friendship ingame with both no matter the outcome.
TC is a shadow of its former self, we have 3-4 active members at this point its safe to say we have taken a beating and are unable to really bounce back as an alliance. Our surrender still stands on our side of things, If you need to reach me and dont have me added to msn its

I would just like to give props to Odin for making a very difficult post. You've fought well and i'm sorry I wasn't around at all, we could have had some good battles. I wish you all the best and sincerely hope that TC are able to recover from damages done.
~Norbe~
Incase anyone is unaware; I am no longer a TÅ HC member so this post (and any/all subsequent ones I may make) is not made in any official capacity.

hmm i am speaking for my self as well
i know that me and Odin couldnt find common language, that we dont like eachother but....
his alliance should really be left alone if we want couple of players playing again....
perhaps Odin should stay in war without his alliance
just a thought

A brave and truthful post Odie. Ive had a soft spot for you despite your brashness

and a few of your members put up a good show. We shall wait and see what TAF HC decide but i will not hit TC unless im hit first until a decision is made.

I second what he has said... If I see any TC in the logs while the HC makes a decision I shall attack. But if they are clear while the HC makes the decision then I shall leave TC alone.

Logged in just for the occasion for a few final words (final as in the last in this topic - I'll still be playing GW for many years to come, if all goes well).
Thanks for all the nice words and funny messages; and, of course, thanks for all the fun, TAF.
I'm sorry I didn't do more - I never was much of a masser, more of a clean-up guy (occasional sabber on a good day); besides, a couple of things (namely, the server move and RL work) got in the way quite often. I can only hope I was as annoying as possible - I did my best with what I had

I bet you'll miss me spamming your logs, stealing your planets and descending your inactives

And at least I tried to make it fun for you too by having something to destroy.
Regardless of what your HC decides about us, I'm out of this war - I'll make an official surrender post if needed. Just for the record, my vote was against surrendering when last asked, but now that a decision has been made by TC I have no reason to keep fighting a war I did not ask for.
I have a few planets I took from TAF; if you need any of them back, help yourselves - I'll just abandon them anyway if nobody needs them. I have no idea who the original owners were though, so I hope you had beacons.
I was going to say I'd do something I haven't done in weeks (go on PPT for a few days, that is), but I don't think I could stand that - there's too many inactives to farm and turns to burn. To those who stay in the war, good luck and have fun!
See you around (I don't plan to spam any war topics any time soon, but you might see me on the forums again in the near future, and that's all I'm saying for now).
