Yes, I read that and was just like "Wow..what in the f.." - Although, to be completely honest, I wasn't all that surprised by Naruto bringing the "nostalgic" faces back into the fray for the final battle of the series.

i dont think he was borderline dead
merely very low on chakra, severely fatigued
dont think kisame actually inflicted any great damage on him

BUt doesn't opening the gates inflict massive damage on the body itself, thus if you open all the gates, your power is massive, but the damage it does to your body kills you?

Thus I suprised that he is still able to move, an injury like that should take months to recover
