Characters are represented by a small amount of 1s and 0s on computers.
Posting a number usually makes a post contain less numbers, ironically.
e.g.
Hi, I'm roy. - a LOT of 1s and 0s
2845 - fewer 1s and 0s
Therefore, you're polluting with a lot of numbers when you're writing text, and you're saving the forum environment when you're using numbers, since it's less for the forum to process and therefore less pollution.

Nah, I joined up last year after Jack introduced me to all the
crazy nice people in one of his group chats. I think we encountered each other once or twice in such a chat, but I'm not very memorable unless I have to beat one of the guys into submission.
