Suarez is the cheekiest guy I've ever seen. With his big grin and that handball. He's a good player but damn he is smug.

Agreed. However, I do believe a lot of that perception comes from the way his face looks.. it just screams "I'm an arrogant prick, tackle me and I'll get you redcarded".. *grin* Good thing the ref noticed that from the start. Why is there such a difference in quality between refs?

Anyway, crying shame, this last match. I was all for Ghana, and they seemed to nick it in the final minute with that penalty.. such a shame Gyan missed.

Oh well.. pressure and an odd ball would make me miss too. (Ignoring the fact that I'd be able to at least hit the ball inside the woodwork, as opposed to that oddball Uruguayan who missed later.)

I couldn't agree more. I played soccer growing up, albeit at a very VERY uncompetitive level, and the only penalty I ever took I made damn sure had a chance to find the back of the net. There's nothing worse than missing a penalty high or wide, imo. Even that one step weak shot was better than missing high because it at least forced the Goalie to do something. Miss high and you give the goalie a free pass.

Exactly. I mean, the goal is pretty huge as it is.. I can understand someone wants to scrape the bar, or reflect off the posts, but that is something you do in training. And when you're damned sure you can do it, you do it when shooting penalties as the decider. Sure, the goalie can get that ball. Just pick a side, aim a little bit upwards, and shoot.

But I can imagine cracking under the pressure too, maybe overestimating my own skill.. but a professional football player should be way better than that.

Oh well. It'd take a while to get used to the ball again, though.

looks like a NL v ARG final for me, altho im happy to sub spain in there.. unfortunaley paraguay should get stoomped, and if torress can find form spain CAN beat germany or argentina. if spain can get form and morale this game against paraguay i tip them to win. if they are dissappointing then i tip argentina.

spain has the beating of both those sides with the possesion game they play - spains main concern is the lack of cutting edge they ahve if villa isnt able to replicate his form each match...still the germans have looked impressive but the argies are getting back into it

think ill go for a 2-2 after extra time with ozil, higuin and messi to score the next goals ( :-"
