the family and friends held a PEACEFUL protest about the incident.
shortly after a riot broke out involving people who had NO CONNECTION to the original incident or the protest.
since then oportunistic scum have gone on a rampage through london for thrills and to try and get free goods at other people's expense.
you want an example of the kind of thing that's going on? a teenager who was not involved in the riots was sat on the floor with a broken nose, 2 men helped him up then proceeded to open his backpack and help themselves to his stuff.
there are still hundreds of police patroling the streets as a deterrant to other rioters.

I saw that on the news :/, it was said that the shooting has nothing to do with the riot.

Damm it was said by my parents who work in the police that it MAY start in Crawley, and MOST LIKELY, to start in brighton at the weekend= gay pride.

May not be true but people in these places be weary.

Re: Britains riots

TBH I don't think much of the police.

They complained that first people were saying they were harsh for the shooting and then complained again that they were being leniant for not stopping the buildings being blown into the air. Thats not kepping law and order. Thats having a cry about it.

I'll give you another example of what happened to a friend of mine in RL.

This person lives with his parents and their house was being raided by thugs and people were breaking into their property. The police come and investigate and because they counldnt find any conclusive evidence they threw my friend into prison because he is now their "main suspect"

How are you supposed to trust a police force that does that?

Indeed..I saw the cops. It's just opportunism at it's worst. That's what you get with today's youth, no discipline! They are so **Filtered** lucky I don't rule the UK..I'd put them on the frontlines to be the fodder for the IEDs. lol

To add to that one woman had her home broken in to last night by 2 brainless thugs when she was in bed.

How the **Filtered** does that have anything to do with the death of a gang member?

Lithium go get your facts right before claiming it has anything to do with what else is going on.

i ve my facts right dude , get out the fight and see whats going on.

why it happened?
how it started ?
how its developing?
what is been done to stop it ?

when u find the answers then think about the general picture without involving yr personal feelings.

This is the NEW WORLD ORDER that planned it all!!!!!!

No seriously, let's stop with this stuff of giving excuses excuses...it's a bunch of opportunist thugs who use excuses to practice violence and robbery.

Not to mention the dailymail article about people stripped from cloths and the one who was left almost dead by thugs who ripped him of his bag or something.

Solus wrote:I find this whole situation disappointing. A horrible government or not, what these people are doing is inexcuseable. period. I have no respect for a view that encourages them whatsoever. sure, the government may be disappointing, but the fact that so many reasons for this riot have been cited, CLEARLY shows that it's not happening for the right reasons - if there was such a thing as a right reason. I wonder how many of the rioters will complain afterwards about the taxes, council rates, etcetera needed to fix all the things they destroyed?

i just hope the police grow some balls. this will keep happening otherwise. police brutality? puh-lease.

~soul

This.

Riot, or no. If you wanted to make a point, just riot on down to the capital building (I do not know what or where it is in England) to make your point. Breaking stuff, stealing stuff, etc is inexcusable and sends the wrong message to your government - no matter how terrible they are. Sooner or later the Police will get tired of it, and will start using force first.

When the riots in Canada happened with the 150,000 people standing in the street; the police were unprepared and inevitably pulled out everything they had in order to calm the riots the best they could but they were severely undermanned. Police ended up carrying fully automatic fire arms to protect themselves, and I doubt that you want to see that on the streets of England.

Also, over one million photos were sent in to help identify as many rioters as possible. Perhaps this will happen with you as well.

Re: Britains riots

Incompetent police is a bit harsh, but mainly (as Mordack put it) mindless thuggery. That's all this is.

If this was anything to do with police and government then why are these thugs attacking their own communities, attacking family run businesses, attacking members of the public? That's what thugs do, not people protesting against leadership.

They are murderers, thieves, arsonists, thugs and much more.

Someone got shot in their car and died, how the **Filtered** does that have anything to do with protests against police and government? Absolutely nothing.

Anyone that thinks there is a bigger picture here is blind to the fact that these are purely mindless thugs.

You expect me to trust a police that locks up the people who call them up when they need them?

and then have a cry about whether they're being too harsh or too soft. Ultimately leading to the streets burning?

EDIT:

To quote an infuencial man,

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

When dealing with people.... what do you expect.

Re: Britains riots

in uk there is a law...no guns in streets let alone knives....a gang member with a gun is a danger to the public..what the cop did is right.. intention to shoot would be the cause.

this is not USA, where guns are legal even is schools( i heard that) but since he got shot. his family condons no violence...so y the looting. its jus simple, jobless youth and ppl with no fear of their life and no one to return back to, take advantage of the situation.

now i hear riot is in my home town, so fingers crossed tonight will be calm, cos alot of us are jus hanged to the news!

Re: Britains riots

If the shooting incident happened in the US, it wouldn't be a big deal. But here everything is about being pc and the human rights laws of the EU. I heard that there was one case of a mother driving up in her car, and sending her son into a Curry's store to loot it and then they calmly drove off. The big excuse? Poverty due to government cuts on benefits and such. What a damned joke! These idiots should trade places with the poor in Africa and Asia.

The cops should be armed PROPERLY.
