I want a word with whoever invented DRAs, not a single one didn't end up costing more than it enabled in "legit hits". :smt081
At the very least DRA caused tension for us to war. So there's that!

The first I heard of DRA was from the former TL leader actually.

wow.

Good Luck to my friends in DDE, but...as TL was once my home I have to cheer for them.

I have to admit, I do find the general idea of the DRA confusing, despite previously arguing for them in my position as a diplomat, all it really does is wind up the people getting farmed.

During my time in TL, there were numerous times I could have farmed DDE/OE/TAF/etc within the terms of the DRA, but I refrained, if only to preserve the peace we had. (oh and i'm very bad with ratios... :P)

again, good luck and have fun.

Originally - the ex TL leader proposed it to prevent war - basically in cases of missed PPT's you could grab it. It was NOT to be used for farming or catching people online farming. And any disrespect would not be tolerated.
DDE rejected this proposal with all other alliances, TL were the ONLY alliance we were prepared to work more closely with on this as per TL's request. (but were notified that any stepping over the line or abuse of DRA would always be met with massing) obviously treaty's such as this will never work with DDE.

My members have been actually turn-farmed on ascended where TL ignores our PM's. Everyone knows DDE solves all problems with warring. When in doubt : mass. Although it did not work on phone the other day... in fact it's more broken now. But this is who we are.

<SNIP>

My members have been actually turn-farmed on ascended where TL ignores our PM's.
These line in particular irritates me, (no irritation from you kj), I'm sure that in the DRA wording it outlines that people who are online and farming are not to be hit. Turn farming is also mentioned.

As well as this, I'm sure that the DRA outlines not only state that the bare minimums are 5:1/10:1/20:1/50:1 (delete as appropriate) it also specifies that it's not the threshold for farming. Obviously in the past, several people have re-he-healy pushed the opposition with turn farming for only just over the limit (which of course is essentially a really slow mass considering weapon damage and troop kills.

After all, the DRA was put in place to ensure good relations are maintained regardless of the farming that takes place (be it within or outside of the DRA limits)

But...exactly as you said KJ, it was put in place so that if someone sees an attack that would truly be too good to be true (think trillions out on a 200b defence) there would be no hesitation to steal what you could and leave what doesn't get stolen.

but in regards to this situation, I know I can't speak as to specific details (both sides have their own version of events - this is a matter of fact) nor can i be certain that the DRA terms are the same as I remember, but this is irrelevant, two teams are at war and I for one can't wait to see some stats from it.

thanks robert, :) I'd like to think that if I were still in TL, I'd be saying the same but I can't help but wonder if I would have remained as impartial if I was a part of it. Who knows really?
