Well, injuries happen from a multitude of reasons, and when you go to the doctor because of them, the doctor prescribes a number of pills to get you going..

no they aren't the same ..bandage is a long strip of cloth material

Noun: A strip of material used to bind a wound or to protect an injured part of the body.

Bandaids protect an injured part of the body. The army has a large variety of bandages we use, not all of them are cloth, though they all have a fabric of some sort attached (like a bandaid).

In all fairness, you are right. Most people think of your definition when the hear "bandage".
