i'll back this idea if you balance out the strike.

so if your a competent masser, you get some sort of bonus.. even if its small!!!

strike is already balanced out by the fact that it is so difficult to harm. the only way anyone can harm anyone elses strike is sabotage, which is pitiful, if you have a strike of 100 bil or better sab is useless anyway. so strike already has the advantage.

Plus strike has the advantage of being repaired as the attacks accur and then being sold to stop it from being damaged further

okay look at it this way

for us small people!!!

a person has a 1 trill defense yeah!! -- which is what average. 3 million supers. + mercs (this is taking planets and MS's out of the equasion)

now multiply that by his suggested 500% -- to get the 5 trill defense!

now to attack something like that your gonna have to have

5 times the amount of supers and mercs to punch a hole in it!

so your looking at the 10+ million supers!

not to mention the casulties would be enourmous!! so it'd make it uber difficult, maybe even useless, for me to steal naq and i have a 400 bill strike now!

First off, do you regulary farm a 1 trill def?

second if you do then its not that big of a deal, build a strike big enough to farm a 5 trill, if he fires a single shot back, he loses all bonuses.

90% of people who do not attack anyone else, have defenses big enough to not be farmed by just anyone.

Remeber 2 key points. They can not fire a single shot, not one. This can be used against them very effectively as they now have to decide if they are willing to lose said protection to retaliate over 1 naq hit. And 2, it will make for far better naq farms when you do break them.

yes but if you want to make profit off hitting a 5T defence the person would have to leave about 1T naq most likely more i dont know

also i see it been abused

1 person in a alliance mass while the rest get the bounes

as highly unlikely as that scenario is, i could see someone attempting it, but i dont think it would fly.

and you could always goad someone into attacking (thus losing the bonus) by using an account with 1/10th the def of the bonused acct to kill defenders (since death rates will soon be based on troop counts alone).

think of it this way, in terms of massing, not much would change, as the troops would die off just as fast as they would without the bonus. it (the bonus) would just be a deterrent to mindless farming (i.e. hitting a 200 bil def to get 10 bil naq).

i like the idea. ill support it :)

but i dont think 500% is right.. if this were to come out id surely be one of the def bonus cats.. thats if i have a big enough income though to bother.. lol

but 500%? i would think 75% or 100% for the 1 month+ non aggressive bonus.. then for the 1 week, something like 40%.

lore all im saying is that its gonna become worthless to go round farming.

first off, i dont farm 1 trill defenses, im not quite capable of that just yet!
i was merely using it as an example!
i like to farm 1-200 bill defenses.


still if it was 500% it'd make it extremly hard for me to farm the higher ranks as people simply dont make enough naq to make it worth farming the bigger defenses!

500% is wayyyy to much

500% ouch, that would hurt those that has been sitting for a while.
You can just sit back and enjoy selling stuff, while your def will get higher and higher the longer that you don't attack.

It's bad form for the idea of stargatewars.

I'd say, sabbing weapons should be put to both offense and defense weapons, not just defense weapons first.
Why?
Because, logically, if your spies have no time to choose which information to take when they infiltrate an account, how come they can pick to destroy just defensive weapons?

As of now, if you sab an account, the defense weapons will be destroyed no matter what. but from what I'm trying to formulate in my mind. Half of the spies doing the sab would go for the defense weapons and half would go for offense weapons.
If the account have a similar amount of offense and defense weapons, then the losses should be the same. If not, then more offense weapons lost, if you have more offense weapons, and vice versa of you have more defense weapons.

Defenses are good as it is. It's just pathetic for sabbing to be effective, since it only destroy def weapons first, before going to offense weapons. My idea on an improvement of sabbing, is that it should be equal.
Leave the formulae to the sabbing values the same, but split the numbers in half to go for both defense and offense, that would make sabbing more viable in a war.

After doing an overdo catch up on this thread,

ok first, sabing adjustments is a whole different suggestion. Doesn't belong here.

2nd, farming will not become worthless. Because with fewer people farming, there will be more accounts out there with naq, and others that will have more naq.

You should make it so that if you set war against a person you dont get the def bonus to your acc, will make sense :D

oh and nice idea, may need a bit of refining and tuning

Its a sound idea. it has its advantages aswell as disadvantages. Its stil up to us who we attack and why. i am for the idea.
