As for nukes, if this baby (no. 4) can be developed and field approved, who knows if nuclear weapons will have any effect (considering NORAD's satallites should detect any missle launches). There is the issue of power, and it would be most likely need to be shipborne off the Chinese coast in order to have any strategical effect, but considering the air superiority (possible bases on Taiwan) and I don't believe China's navy is much better, so the blockade could fall into place relatively quickly.

That kind of laser tech your talking about is still quite a way off being effective in much of a sense, mostly due to the fact you cant, as you point out, make something powerful enough and accururate enough, and quick enough...

That Kinda Laser Technology Isn't That Far Off. Statistically, It Is Estimated That The United States Military's Technonlogical Development Is 50-75 Years ahead of todays equipment. Stuff You're Hearing About now, the miliatry has had for a decade or longer.

But i dont think it would be a laser.. prolly more like an interception drone of some sort.

Where do you think email came from? The DoD. I'm pretty sure the internet was originally from the American military's internal infrastructure before it went public.

ummmm... 5 star is the highest there has ever been. It (currently) can only be granted during times of war (of the kind declared by Congress).

oh, and yes about the internet coming from the DoD. It is an evolution of the old ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Authority Network)

5-Star would be for a single branch, such as General of the Army. I'm hoping to control the whole military, thus requiring a whole new ranks

BTW Jack, Sec Def is a civilian. You wouldn't separate me from the military, would you? (Ok, so I'm only an Army brat atm, but that counts for something).

Shadow Police will be the new secr- Homeland Security. Also, Shadow Captains must be trained in pacification of the masses *cough* I mean crowd control... in the Shadow Officer Academy. Shadow Marshal's must reenter the school for battlefield training. All Shadow Police are schooled in espionage (of course) and Shadow Marshals supercede anyone of equal military rank on the battlefield!
