I'm afraid any solution to this is going to harm the sub-top more than the rapid reascenders, because they seem to be able to pull the resources out of thin air. So you'd let those that already have to work hard for reascension work even harder, while those that could do it multiple times will still be able to manage it pretty easily.

Very true! No matter how the rules are moulded, the people who've accrued power in all these long months since the game started, will remain more powerful than the newcomers.

Well, part of the problem is ppt. Solution to that: ban 10$ and 20$ donations to ascended accounts, but allow them to keep the 50$ donation if they really, really, want ppt that bad
Eventually, their credit will suffer for ppt abuse
Another problem: Leaving stuff behind... Solution: banning the transfer of goods just really isnt fair. Though it would definatly make it challanging... I personally believe the costs of reascension will solve this problem all by itself after a couple months, so its not a major problem.
Last problem: I do have a major solution to this whole ascended people in top 100 problem in general... but seriously, it could really backfire on myself... I'll need to discuss it with a few people before I decide to tell the rest of you :p

Not everyone is abusing ppt though. I've ascended and I only got ppt to be able to trade. If it was banned, some people who don't abuse the system would get hurt in the process too.

Ahh which brings us to the age old question. Do we ban it for everyone so no one can abuse it, or let it continue, and listen to the anti-ppt whiners all the time... And element, he did only mean ban the cheap PPT's, so it would be expensive to continually be on PPT.

Banning $10 and $20 might really not do the trick at all. There are a lot of rich kids (and grups) who wouldn't mind parting with $50 if that was the only way... and although the overall number of ppl paying for ppt might fall... just a few of those rich kids (or grups) would eventually take the lead and make the rest as miserable as before.

Indeed. Once again you're hurting the little guy more than the serious abuser. If they could afford multiple 20$ PPT's, they can afford the 50$ one, so even if it costs more, they can still get it. However, everyone who was going to get SS through the market is lost. Very few people can afford to pay the resources it would take for a 50$ PPT. Besides, I imagine forum is making more off the 10 and 20$ PPT's than the 50$ ones.

I agree that something should be done, but I don't have any suggestions.
Everything I think of have though of has just as many pros than cons.

The only way you could prevent the whole, stashing excess troops and naq to boost the shell account when you ascend would be to prevent any ascended account from being able to recieve them (doubt that'll ever happen).
One suggestion I made a while back was that leave the main and ascended accounts linked, the stronger one gets the more it drains and weakens the other, use a % reduction so it can't be easily circumvented by just buying more weapons. At least this way it'll force the player to choose a server they wish to be all powerful in so it'll be unlikely to be the same players ruling both servers.
Afterall, when Anubis was on the ascended plane he couldn't give commands to his troops in the physical plane.
