You havent known anyone ascending recently I guess. You just say you wanted to ascend, you only have 3 trades, 1 for UU, 1 for ATs, and 1 no 2 no 3 no wth 4 trades for naq.

ROFL, I've been ascending for the last two months..
I always trade with someone on PPT.
I send the ATs and the Naq directly since there is no loss there.
You just do one broker for the UU.
So 1 broker for each ascention = not bad.

and you cant trade more then 1 tril which means you obviously aren't big enough to see the problem
and i do need to advise my officer about his planets

Bold and underlined and blue'd the bit you missed.
Directly.. the issue was concerning the "trading" of the Naq and needing bigger figure which I said was something to make our life easier, not needed.
I usually ascend with quite a bit of Naq, I send it
directly, not through a broker. Why would I do that when you don't lose anything via direct? The UU is the only thing that needs to go through the broker so you don't lose the 1%.
So: Naq gets sent directly
ATs get sent directly.
UU gets sent via the broker.
Again, as I've said, I love the larger input fields and REALLY want the direct ones to be larger as well. (And love being able to trade for millions of UU for trillions of Naq all at one go now.) Now.. possibility to have a multi-type trade... aka: 100B Naq and 200k UU for 4k Turns or something of that sort.

If units were sent, you highly doubt they all made it without at least a few running away. The cowards.

You broker them.
The other person does not accept them.
When you ascend the other person rejects the broker.
You lose nothing because the trained units never went anywhere.
You only lose stuff when units are transferred to anyone. You don't lose them in the broker when rejected.

I see the point that it makes things easier for the CO - but is it needed? - why do all updates have to make things easier? Where will it end?
Update Feb 03 2009: New Auto Feature: This feature has been added for those who wish to have the best accounts, but can't be bothered to actually get off their butts and login. Once activated, the feature will learn a players strategy based on his or her past 100 logins. It will then compare this strategy to those people who have the best accounts and will set up an automated routine of raiding/attacking/training/banking/going on PPT/massing etc. It will even automatically sell your defensive weapons and untrain your spies in the event of an attack. You will then be safe in the knowledge that the next time you login your account will be at least 10 times more powerful than it was previously. If it isn't, we'll make it even easier for you and give you 100 trillion naq and 10k AT.
Okay - that's taking things to its limit, but that is the direction the game is going! The game has progressively got more complex (on the surface) because of all the new additions since it was created (market, MS, raid, fleets, planets, seeing officer's stats etc), but how it actually works, and how difficult it is to build a good account (or exponentially increase the strength of an already good account) has got steadily easier and easier because of these additions.
Frankly, I'm sick to the back teeth of updates that make things easier. How about an update to make something more difficult, more interesting or (heaven forbid), more strategic?
Yes, yes, you could add a check box - but why bother with it at all? - if the officer wants his commander to see his planets he can cut and paste them.
Why do we need to have all the information of our officers? Have people and armies in history always known everything about their allies?
As for one of the previous points about people not trusting their commanders and it being 'ugly' - well there has been the odd occasion when people have been forced to join a commander or be destroyed, so I guess it could happen.
I guess my point is that what this suggests is already achievable in a matter of seconds (or at the very most a couple of ingame messages). I'd rather see something like a new type of covert (Planet Recon) that allows for greater success on gathering planet information - perhaps using 3-5 covert turns instead of 1 (we do have increased covert capacity). That way you could get the information you want (not need), but it would come at a cost. The only decision you have to make is whether the cost is worth it. Or, just ask.
Personally, I'd rather see the Admin spending time on something that will actually make a difference to the game, and not just something that is an easy convenience.

two can play that game
i suggest an update that forces you to buy one weapon or shield for he mothership at a time because lets be honest you cant attach 10,000 weapons at the same time can you
you see it doesn't make it harder just more boring and time consuming
due to the magic of time zones it can take 20 or even more hours to get a reply from your officer
your suggesting that commanders shouldn't be able to see every bit of information about his officers
then why bother with officers and commanders at all if all its meant to be is extra income and up

Because it isn't just about UP and naq bonus (and in fact I made a suggestion myself that we should have the ability to vary or even stop the amounts of naq (and subsequently UP bonus) that commanders/officers get from each other) - it's also about showing (just as alliances) that these groups of people work together, and to work together, one person doesn't need to see all of the information on the others.
What you said about attaching weapons isn't relevant, to be honest. If you think that it is, then please explain how.
And I am well aware that you can have a commander and officer in different time zones - that is why I said 'at the most a couple of ingame messages' - but your argument that it can take 20 hours to communicate those doesn't actually do anything to strengthen the case of why this suggestion is actually needed.
Take the other side of your '20 hours' argument - what if the officer desperately needs some info about his or her commander, or despeartely needs some advice from his or her commander? Well, they can't just get it from looking at their commanders stats can they? No, they have to wait the 20 hours you mentiuoned.

because they are the officer
they are below they wait for orders they wait for info
the commander shouldn't have to
my slow attaching weapons is relevant because your against an update that saves time so i decided to suggest the perfect update to waste time
of course its about people working together and other such things
so this is a penalty for people who just pick any old commander is the risk their commander will get their info
i like to advise my officers about their entire account and to do thati need to see their entire account
please give me three good reason why this shouldn't be implemented
because right now your only argument is that forum could do something more important instead
well heres the reality forum has just done his major updates now it will be all little things all over
thats where this comes in

How has my argument revolved around Jason doing something more important?
And I still don't see the relevance of your weapons argument - no matter how you try and dress it up. That is a silly argument for the sake of it, whereas I have stated over why I believe this shouldn't be implemented:
I believe I have said:
1. It doesn't actually add anything to the game.
2. It isn't needed (wanted, yes - needed, no).
3. The information can already be gained through other methods (asking/spying).
4. Officers may not want their commanders to see their planets - for reasons already mentioned (unscrupulous commanders etc).
5. You don't need to be able to see an officer's palnets to be able to advise them on the best ones to have or how much defence is needed on them.
6. Yes, Forum does have more imporant things to do - and IS doing them.
So, there's your 3 reasons, and I've raised you 3.
On top of that - using your argument of commander/officer being on opposite sides of the world against you.... How would a commander having immediate access to an officers planets be of benefit? Yes, the commander might be able to see everything immediately - but to what end? How can the fact that the commander can see the planets immediately be of any benefit?
