Simply said IT"S all pointless!
So NO!
anyones stats at anytime. There are ways to find out, and it's not like know that tom as a 5tril defence is going to hurt anyone, cause lets face it, if someone can take down a 5tril defence, they should the heck can see it!

hmmm.. I have always thought everyones id should be publicly known. Your forum account is a representation of your ingame account especially in the GC. I just found out that it was ok to post peoples stats when reading this. I remember a few posts of people whining recently about someones stats being posted by me when it was just an attack log. An attack log does not post correct stats though considering it is a mix of a bunch of different stats and changes with all kinda situations. I have fought alot of people when I couldn't see their stats but have always found someone else to be able to spy them. I think it should still be outlawed though because I think attaining that info is a part all in it's own and makes people communicate among themselves to obtain it. plus we already got enough junk on forums without pages of stats taking up more spaces. And it would get real bad when people start posting planet info.

As the rules were written by the community, for the community it is only fair that there be a public discussion before they are changed.
The rule the mod team and I would like to add would ban users from posting others stats. Users would still be permitted to post their own stats.
The reason we would like such a rule is that it seems to somewhat cheapen the covert aspect of the game. As one mod put it, “What is the point of having a covert ability if you can simply go to the forums and look up your enemies stats?” Of course people can still trade information and give it to their friends, but that’s also an important aspect of the role play. We feel that allowing it in the official forums however makes it to easy and basically, takes the fun out of a major aspect of game play.
What do you guys think?

I think.... hypocrit!

I would allow posting of stats on forums
Specific reason being...every action has a reaction so if someone would post stats of somebody else by doing so he would tell smth to the community and the owner may punish him if he so wishes...
So for instance if I dont like someone who is in war with someone its my business if i post stats on public forum for everyone to see them...
Its basically just mass media...so I would allow it...

That Back in the day, Admins made the rules, And they where obeyed. End of, Not even mods had a say...
Secondly.
The forums are nothing to do with the game.
As has been pointed out many times, Mods getting massed for forum actions is "out of order", So why would it not be ok for them to be massed, But also for it to be ok for them to keep everyone from seeing stats etc...
Makes little sense.
If you want the forum to protect your account, then why arent the mods protected? "Ohhh they can change ID's" you say, However if they do, they get complained at for unfair treatment etc.
Bottom Line, It wasnt a great rule, and it made no sense, Forum is nothing to do with game. So why should the forum stop the game being played in a more expanded or original way? Chances are if your in a war, your screwed anyway and most people can see your stats.
God i cant stand this place anymore.
Could be easily solved...just put influential ppl in SGW into the modding teams...or better yet...the one who wants to be a mod does so by knowing the risk that comes with the job...better players more renown etc have nothing to fear by being mods...
And frankly it is kind of weird when you see some SGW noob or a guy who aint even playing modding your stuff when you are talking about the game itself or whatever...

Roflmao !
u got to be kidding me ? if it would be for rude behaviour towards admin/mods/users with a warning or something yea but euhmm that like
OVER-REACTED.
Like Buck pointed out
THIS is a community seperated from the game here its to make
CONTACT With friends or foes is this a sort of a new job to give mods so they can get bit more powers... I mean how rude it may sound but this is one of the redicilous suggestions
I EVER SAW.
Why not make the rules like ANY other forums has for example
No rude behaviour
No porn
No spamming
Why do u wanne make this forum even harder than it already is and why not keep the rules
SIMPLEThis isn't even a Discussion worthed cus mods will do whatever they feel like anyway's they just want BAN BAN BAN I HAVE THA POWER U NOT than WAAAH WAAHH I got massed ingame for banning u cus u showed stats roflmao !
Go ahead make this community worse... thats what mod good at

100% agreed.
and everyone know that stats are changing alot everytime... Post my stats, and the day after, they could have changed totally.
another exemple : u mass someone with 20bil income and post it ---> in a day, the guy will have set a ppt and at end of ppt, he'll got huge def again...

Meh, just decide what the rules are Smooshable, it's why Jason picked you and the other Admins. if you want no stats posted, so be it, if it's a free for all, np, but just make a decision and don't leave it to the posters coz we are all a bunch of morons anyway
