How would this be any different then the "Donations option? If the $$ is used to keep the server up and running, or paying a "Full time" programmer (As Jason seems to be a part timer with a "hobby").

How is this any different?

Anyone?

Donations (whether through PPT/SS or other means) are specifically made to support the game and should be ploughed directly back into the game to pay for development, servers, bandwidth etc (at least that is what one can reasonably assume from the term 'donation'), so strictly speaking it doesn't make money - or certainly not enough for some of the big companies involved to be interested.

However, introduce a brokering/trading system that encourages the use of $$ and through which, as suggested, Kingdom Games is clearly seen to make a profit, then the aforementioned companies might just become interested.

Whether or not the system was used to make profit, or to be put back into developing/running SGW, we would essentially be opening up and be seen to be encouraging cash trades (a stockmarket of sorts) between players of the game - as such the game admins would be taking (by default) responsibility for those trades, and we might also attract the attention of others such as revenue collection and (again) other linked companies.
