I dont know why it took so long for anyone to just ban the account 'claiming' to be tokra. It is done on a daily basis, and there were more than enough mods around at the time in order for at least one to step up and do it.

I thought buck resigned as a mod... he's a mod again now? If so, why the deal about losing the green, thats just silly.

How exactly did JMX get banned ingame though, he was already banned on the forums prior to this.

Cause he royally pissed off Forum.

I believe because of his changed name. Part of the whole 'April Fools' joke to try and make it more convincing I am guessing
Oddly, only one has an "Ostracized" thing by their name, but both are ranked 0.

I agree ... but the question is why only one of them has been ostracised.

not funny at all. An april fools prank would have been: the DDE declares war on Omega, everyone playing along and posting fake attack logs etc. That would actually have been funny.

But spreading more rumours about forum just isn't funny, especially not after that guy who just recently got banned had claimed the game admins had given him quadrillions of resources.

TBH I didnt know if it was both me and Tanith where in doubt, And when i whent to bed i werent sure if it was a april fools or not.

And now as i know tbh i sincerly hope someone make sure the people in on it get to know it werent funny.

I sat a long time talking to Clarkey who didnt like his adress posted on the forum.

I sat to 2AM my time going up 6AM and is at work now to find out if Tok'ra was back or what happen and some from mod, supermod, admins said its a hoax others said it werent so who was in on it or not i dont know but i will admit i got fooled i believed he was back sad but true.

ok i understand that it went a little far prob further than it was supost to but banning ingame and forum accounts maby suspensions for both but im sure none of them would have done the joke if they knew they would of been banned i mean Jedi i know wouldnt just throw his account away.

yes to far and the joke want funny and i understand why admin got so upset casue he works hard to keep this game clean

also i really dont think that it was Tok'ra unless ips where confirmed

Seeing as though people haven't come forward and done the right thing and instead are finding ways to cover themselves, thought i'd make this post to get people thinking instead of being lulled into the seeming focus shifting towards only Judo/Jedi while ignoring the issues of the Team and a severe dereliction of duty.

[I use the term Team Lightly as while a few knew about it right away or beforehand and others during it, not all knew (the majority) and others that did know were either powerless to do anything or told not to.]

Certain members of the Team knew about it and gave it the nod. Other members of the team found out about it and kept posting as if they didn't know to keep it going and give it substance and the important believibility factor to the point where other mods were falling for it.

That is, in english - people of responcibility promoting and propergating the lie and literally preventing others from closing it down, saying its a prank, leave it there/go along with it.

Now if Jedi and Judo, people without positions of responcibility are allowed and encouraged by the team to do so through the teams choice of either inaction while knowing or joining in on the fun directly, then why are two people without responcibility punished and those who are in positions of responcibility and thus should have known better, not punished?

So who is more guilty?

A few community members working with Tok'ra on whats been revealed as a long planned prank? That mods knew about, did not shut down and even encouraged and joined in, giving those members the confidence to keep going?

Or:

A few administration members:
- Knowing beforehand and doing nothing?
- Knowing beforehand and joining in?
- Finding out and doing nothing?
- Finding out and joining in?

Read: Not stepping in at anytime and closing it all down as it crossed a line for over a full day despite things posted that shouldn't have been, an auful lot of honest distress caused and more importantly voiced by the event, a severe betrayal of trust with sensative information posted as well as allowing the community to fall into a position where it all became too believabile and began questioning the integrity of Jason.

At anytime it could have been shut down. At every line crossed, it wasn't.

Therefore I would suggest that if anything is to be done about it, it is universal and not selective scapegoats as what seems to be happening at the moment...

Well unless Tok'ra use another MSN i had him talking to me under all of this where i tried to figure out if he was for real or not and he convince me in the end i am sry to admit that but thats how it is.

TBH, a hard stanced closure and deletion would most likely have done far more damage than good giving an appearance of an attempted coverup...

Frankly I think the majority recognised it as a gag... and imho once it was out, it had to run its course, authority blowing it out of the water and surpressing it would only have given it weight an got efven more ppl serioulsy thinking it was the trouth.
As for preventing it from getting out in the first place... tis tokra were talking about heh, keep it real ppl.
As far as I see it it`s a big lose-lose for forum administration from the second tokra (or whoever) first got the idea...

Saying that, the prank was in extremley bad taste... sure it ruffle mega feathers, big hit as far as that goes, but the sideffects are not exactly negligable heh...


Anyho lets all calm down a bit heh. A big round of appologies and how about we put this unfortunate incident behind us... til next years april fools

It's simple really.. never trust anyone when the shadow of doubt is around.
I was taught that very lesson here, and have taught it too.

Sad that Forum was the 'pick-on' person.. and yeah, well.. what's that saying? Never piss off an Admin?
