Say i post something, then go on a week holiday...<person> misquotes...during that week no one notices the original post and a server war starts...
Any misquotes which can cause negative repercussions should be against the rules.

In that case, we need to make lying against the rules too, because who's to say that a lie can't start a server war? Who's to say it hasn't already, for that matter? Or better yet, since we're so concerned about server wars, why not just get Admin Jason to put everyone on permanent PPT? That would solve that problem, and so many more.
jack maybe i should petition jason to start the permanent ppt now before anyone else gets their panties all in a bunch over the fact that
this is a game.....
come on people grow up..... people will stab you behind your back in rl so why won't it happen here. thats right that noob on the other end of the line is a human too, and will behave and act just like a human, if anyone thinks for one iota that this is otherwise they are sadly mistakened. in addition to that if i seem to recall people not that long ago where whineing and "female dog in heat" about the game not being exciting anymore, well if this gets alliances with trigger happy members going at it then that adds excitement to the game

i will also add that if your alliance has a habbit of jumping the gun on something like a misquoted post then MAYBE THEY DESERVE TO GET MASSED.
whoever can say "my alliance (took part/is in) into a war because _____ misquoted ______ on the forums. which made (me/my alliance) retaliate on them, even though the information in _______'s post wasn't true.
if you can fill in the blanks maybe you should evaluate weather or not you should be a member of that alliance. i will say right now that the top alliances have gotten into the bad habbit of poo flinging to get things going, that is just sad and pathetic as far as i am concerned.....
believe it or not there was a time when the commander of an alliance said STHU to his officers and they stayed in line. things would get sorted out without one of the officers getting trigger happy and turning up the heat..... and innocent bystanders where careful to not wander into the battlefields... so long as bystanders stayed out of the way they wouldn't get dragged into the war..... or atleast this was the attitude in the Atlantis Gaurdians...
other than that i am disappointed that the proposed misquote rule got even this far....

Seconded.

thirded...
i should also add that it is NOT the mod or admin teams fault that a misquote was allowed to stay which resulted in the raping of your account....
grow up junior and take it like a man....... the NOOB's account has gotten to big go on ppt then get em!
this is a game NOT your life story at least i hope not....

Fourth'ed. Silly rule. I misquote for effect all the time and don't offend anyone. Hell, everything Geisha types is a misquote in some form or another.
When Jason audited the rules some time ago, he dropped the list from 20+ something to around 10. He reviewed what we had and decided that at least half were silly, didn't make sense, or were usurious. Why are we making a progressive march back to the same state we were in?
