I would have people learn a valouable life lession from SGW. Don`t start things you can`t or aren`t willing to see through to the finish.
If people "pack up " before "the surrender comes" from one side then that`s harldy the problem of those willing to see thigns through but of those that have 4 month periodical identity crissis of weather they`re the best thing since sliced bread and deserve the unmached pinnacle or they just want to play in peace without loosing face since the "farmfest got old" heh...

Ofcourse there is allways admin to brake the deadlock by introducing a radical udate

As someone whose met KGC in person, I can assure you that he's a down-to-earth guy and someone whose well aware of the risks associated with warfare and having an Omega tag. The chances of him weeping over anything associated with this game are slim to nil.

And a neutral alliance? I guess 'Children of Dune' would fit the pattern, although I come from the minority of people who consider Frank Herbert's writings to be heinously overrated. Don't tell STI though.

Personally, however, I hope that if a war does occur, FUALL will take a similar stance to TJP on the issue of people 'leaving' at will and treating the war situation like a revolving door. It's a lesson we should have learnt from the TO/CoTO war.

In over 2 months of war my defense was the only decently sized one you brought down. I rebuilt it immediately and once or twice after that. No one in Omega expects to keep their defense in a wwar, so most of my alliance mates were pleasantly surprised.

Also note: I have number one army size, so you massing me hardly dented me

Oh - don't get me wrong. I do think Dune is an excellent book, there is a compelling plot, interesting characters, excellent world-building and plenty of good science fiction concepts. Unfortunately, Dune Messiah and Children Of Dune only had those things sporadically and had increasingly contrived plotting. I didn't read any more of the books after that, but the sequels being mediocre doesn't stop the original novel being good.

well they won't name it like the options are... just becouse of the options they won't name it DUNE or Gamma etc.

Having read the original books set down by Frank, I have to concede the same point. Horribly overrated and so many unnecessary plot devices or historical links and after God Emperor I pretty much disowned the Dune universe. There are some nifty things in it, some nice philosophical ideas and a rather unique setting and i'd rather have read the first and come into contact with those ideas and perspectives then not, but having to endure it for that long... *shudders*

In my top 20 list of aurthors, his works tend to come dead last. The others being (but not in order): H.P.Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, C.S.Lewis, Philip Pullman, John Milton, Tolkien, Robert Heinlein, H.G.Wells, Michael Moorcock, Ursula Le Guin, George Orwell, Harry Turtledove, Terry Pratchett, Robert Jordan, Dan Abnett, Terry Brooks, Matthew Reilly, Dean Koontz & Stephen King.

So pretty much restricted to the Gothic Horror/Sci Fi/Alternate Universe/Fantasy genres although these days I am on the lookout for more obscure texts that history has forgotten or left behind.

Oh and by Neutral alliance, you mean the rest, resupply, rearm and rejoin the conflict when its convenient centre only to run back and claim the moral highground? Such Bastions I doubt given the mass abuse of DUNE by a particular side would be allowed or established in the war that may or may not come

wouldn't the obvious solution be: Don't let them ever leave the war? If they want to leave it, they have to put their account on vacation mode until its over, or atleast remain allianceless?

The real thing i will be pushing for is no shifting around of accounts..no using different ascended accounts to your main, and individuals can't publicly quit and secretly send resources.

thats why you make it if they are going to quit, they go on vacation mode, else they are still in the war
