The attacking MS repairs often so its going to have full strength when the defending MS is a paperweight.

basing planet destruction on MS strength will just give power to the larger players (generally they ahve the biggest MS)

it just needs to be on planet size compared to the planet size your destroying... and taking 2 days to complete...

during those 2 days you cant be on PPT so people do that then hop onto ppt... or even change realm main>purg and vice versa

This is how I would suggest doing it:
Personal Planets Owned:
Make destroy planet an option to go along with abandon planet.
In order to destroy a planet you would be required to have 10 planets in possession.
The planet you intend to destroy would have to have been either made on the market by you or have been in your possession for a minimum of 10 days if found or 30 days if stolen.
There should be a naq cost equivalent to the next size upgrade for destruction.

Planets Held By Other Player:
Requires a minimum of 5 officers under your command.
Utilizes all officers MS to mass the assault on one planet and functions similar to all out war non-alliance.
Sends all officers MS's out for 24 hours to do the job. If one of the officers has already sent their ship out for planet search the destroy planet op. ends in failure due to lack of support and all ships suffer damages.
Cost similar or more as stated in owned planet options.

Another option would be to require both players be in an alliance and at war before aggressive planet destruction can take place.

for "Personal Planets Owned" I agree with it except the time it needs to be in your possession... I think 48 hours is plenty thats twice the amount for renaming it/someone else taking it...

"Planets Held By Other Player"

This effectively gives players control of other peoples accounts... not going to happen... it would be the same as letting someone use their 5 officers strike or covert action.

I agree with Rook

@ "Personal Planets Owned" why 10 planets owned? whats the reasoning? It makes no sense.
@ "Planets Held By Other Player" not going to happen. Forcing them to have officers will not be economical either. Admin has made it so that no larger accounts can even break even on having officers.

 was just gonna post the same kinda idea to add another attack to your MS could be called somthing like "orbital bombardment" this attack could destroy stats on planets not to destroy it another thing this could do is if the homeworld is attacked it would kill miners/lifers as this is were in times of war most people hide there troops
