I got to agree with you surprised how much people listen to metal in this game, sometimes I even feel this game isn't my place for this reason!

surprisingly some of their songs are considered a form of metal. the metal genre is VERY generic.

unless you start looking ad progressive death metal or something specific...

well technically some of FOB's songs are.

anyway, i stumbled on a band that do some melodic deathmetal style stuff, but instrumentals only. not to mention a metal versoin of Tay Zonday's 'Chocolate Rain'... and surprisingly its really good

seems nu-metal is the popular one around here . I don't really like the growling vocals in most of the heavier metal

yeah we have to remember that 'Metal' is a very generic genre. i mean how many sub genre's are there? i mean earlier i mentioned some of F.O.B's stuff being a form of metal... but in no way would i classify them under the same banner as something like Misery Signals or anything like what i normally listen to.

Well youve got "Glam Metal" Which is the 80's stuff like Kiss, And Motley Crue, Then Youve got plan old "Metal" which is metallica, and other old school stuff, then you have "NuMetal, Or Heavy Metal" which is like Trivium. Then Theres all the sub catagories, like PunkMetal, SkaMetal, HipHopMetal (Yes, that does exist) EmoMetal, Then youve got things that are too insane to be classed as metal, Like real goth rock, gothic, and...

...Hell, there are too many types of genre to the alterantive scene, Mostg of which can in some way be described as metal...

I can listen to Metallica and Iron Maiden, but can't stand heavy metal and all the "hardcore" forms of it, I have my limits as much as open I can try/want to be!
You know not the stuff sounding like above artists, but more like screaming monsters with dark evil scary loud voices, where it doesn't sound like rockers singing out loud, but more like evil creatures. Can't remember of group names to mention.

Iron Maiden are pretty evil sure, but their vocals are ok to be listened to for me, and their guitars/instrus are good.

(lol i understand you, i know many ppl are the same, its just a matter of taste. personally i love darker vocals. but i like some melody in the music itself so i barely ever go near thrash, but most other heavier stuff i like)
