And if you had checked further then the length of your nose you would have noticed that i am no longer an educator and that my last education was more then a month ago Let me also remind you of the fact that our modding in these forums has nothing to do with that we represent ingame.

i know that you quit the educators. i saw the post. my nose is long enough, thank you. still, you were part of them. and if you think that your being a mod has nothing to do in game, then you are wrong. the popular perception is that there is a relation. WOLF359 is respected in game as well as forums because he's a mod. YOU are respected in game as well as forums because you are a mod. your being a mod has everything to do with SGW. Is it unfair? definitely. but that's the perception.

Not that this is really any of my business, but something weilandsmith said raised a red flag. You think that Wolf is respected because he's a mod? I think, that more then anything, it's the other way around. He's a mod -because- he's respected.

Wolf359 is respected because he is one of the best posters around and a bit of a role model for us all, not because he is a mod. His position evokes (and indeed requires) some sense of objectivity although such things are impossible and it’s the conscious attempt that matters. You'll find throughout SGW history, numerous mods or admins who were or are in positions of significant influence in game with the ability to affect the server to some degree. They like the players have a range of styles.

In fact, there used to be a complete distinction between in game and forums in that they were not related and had nothing to do with one another. If there was an absolute connection as you say, does that then give players the right to mass any mod who they feel wronged them? Should I automatically respect every single moderator absolutely for their position alone and not their actions or views?

I’m not sure about you, but I will judge a moderator based upon their actions in ensuring the forums run smoothly as I will judge their poster persona likewise by their views and in game account by their actions.

fine then. i respect wolf359 because he was fair minded to me in his job as a mod. i never knew wolf359 before he became a mod. i'm a newbie. you are using your perceptions. i am using mine. i respect wolf because he was a fair mod to me. we even work on several topics together here in forums. thats it. that's my perception. i did not know who wolf was before. please don't argue about perceptions because we won't get anywhere with them. you're perception as a veteran player is different from a newbie player like me.

Your whole argument hinged on the fact that it was "the" perception. That is what your post said here, it is what the post in the GC said. That the educators were Irresponsible and that this was magnified by the fact that even certain mods were in on it at various stages.

Now that it has been debunked, the tune changes from "the" perception to "newbie" and "Veteran" perception(s). This plays right into and demonstrates my argument.

That people these days are being brought up to expect only one play style, to expect a soft game where there are moral protections and bindings and where an aggressive play style in a war-game is taboo. To make war for profit or pleasure is argued and campaigned publically to no longer be acceptable. So whenever people follow this Equally valid play style, it is condemned and they are in fact abused.

They talk about these aggressive players imposing that direct play style upon them while neglecting the very fact that the opposite is far more numerous and just as true. That the passive play styles have been imposing and shaming aggressive players so in a way using public pressure to bully players into adopting a more quiet role. In other words, being forced to drop their own style of play and to take on another’s.

Yet here we are, in another thread aimed at agressive players in a way to rally up public support and hope that the social pressure will bind them to the will of passive players so that they may enjoy their game unmolested while not taking into consideration the opposite argument...

massing is fine. raiding, attacking, stealing planets. fine. but when you say that you did this because you are educating people? i am attacking you because i am educating you? that's insulting.
