Admittedly, Suzuk, it does seem to be overused, but I think since the war did start around end of May, I'm pretty sure most school systems end around now? I couldn't say. I could be quite wrong. =D

Thanks for all the replies, as well.

Yeah, that's definitely true. It is that time of year.

My question though is; how many people would be going on vacation mode for exams if there wasn't a war? :D

Suzuk - Truly, I wouldn't be. I'd explain to my alliance that I wouldn't be super active during my exam times, banking, dropping in a line or two, but that's it. But in a time of non-war, I wouldn't be. I just don't think someone should be in a war, if they're not going to participate. It's either fire up the guns, or get out, in my opinion.

Weapon X - You know, I'm probably just delerious from trying to remember the process of digesting food ( Which is, not suprisingly, un-appetizing ), are you saying that unless someone has proof that it was just to protect their stats, don't fling accusations? >.>;

I tend to accept what someone says at face value, for the most part. Until someone shows a reason why not to - why should I doubt?

This thread goes to show the many reasons why I am glad to know you, HF. ;)
(but let's not delve into that, doesn't become me to do that in public)

As I said (too summarily), "tactics".. Vacation is a possible tactic, pretty accepted, at least the way it is generally being used. You can fight one full day in a week, be on vacation 24 hours after your last attack, come off and hop on PPT for 4 consecutive days. While it may seem to be stretching the limits of courage, it's actually "sacrificing benefits". Look at it this way.. you can't receive resources while on vacation, nor do you generate them, so neither you, nor your enemies get better from it. If the argument were that the enemies you attack on your one active day are at a disadvantage, having no chance for revenge, that's invalidated by the fact that you'll have to silence your guns for the rather long period of 24 hours before being able to leave the plane of existence and pretend you're a High Guard Warship surviving a Nietzschean betrayal and consecutive ambush. That faint resemblance aside (being on the edge of a black hole and all, for those who fail to see the match with Andromeda), I think it's a fair way of being badass. We cannot all be online all the time. Personally, I just leave my account off PPT for 3 days a week (normally) and have friends of mine who like to farm a lot (Katsu! :)) take most of my resources. I'm fine with that, and hey, if I can't have my resources, at least a friend of mine can. Isn't that nice.

All said and done, I don't frown on those who for the shortest time possible. Nor do I frown, rather the contrary, on those of us with the great common sense to actually value real life issues with the prevalence they deserve to have over game issues. :-) (Sometimes things are different for those in charge of alliances, but that's a different story entirely.) :P

thats exactly what im saying. too many people are too quick to point fingers before have sort of proof or evidence, even circumstantial, and this annoys me.

i dont like to accuse anyone of anything unless i feel i have something with which to base the accusation. otherwise im assuming and we all know what assuming does.

During the TO/FUALL war I hit vac mode a few times with my dissertation - it really paid off big time. Got a really good dissertation mark and no regrets that I was distracted by a silly online game ;)

RL always comes first. Often the "best" players on games like this are the ones who don't realise that. I'd rather lose a war on a crappy game and ace my exams any day - you can't go to a job interview saying you massed HE, ETL and KGC, but failed your exams :P

Good luck with the exams :-D

RL is important and always will be priority over anything that is considered a hobby or something that is for pleasure. Games or entertainment are things that are for pleasure or to kill time, those should not distract from RL and priorities of that. Good luck on your exams, do your best and try not to let a game reflect your RL.

Feature of the game.

Whats on the Nose is sitting in your alliance during peace then leaving either just before or just after war breaks out instead of setting vac if you are really busy in RL for a short period of time.

Depends. You can never know though. Its hard to believe what someone says through words and numbers and not through their actiosn, which is almost impossible for this kind of game.

I'm considering doing it myself for a bit, that or just flat out quitting.

I refuse to vote on this because there are many situations that could occur that would cause you to leave during war times. Even though you have a good reason, some people might not always accept the fact you have to leave as it is utterly important and will still call you a coward.

So my vote is - If they have real life issues and not some phony reason, then they are not a coward. If they make up a reason to leave your Alliance in their time of need, then you are by far a coward if not more.

RL comes first

better to go on vac then leave your alliance ...
