Seems the game admins are getting lazy, or should I say lazier? Now come on, he deserves everything back! How about short ending the account stealer instead of the account owner?

I am sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings but this is the policy going forward. If you have been hacked, your goods will not be returned but we will tell you where those goods have gone. In Dan/Marshall's case, We are still looking for the goods.

Its ashamed Admin has taken this new policy..while you might get some resorces back you dont get them all ... or even close...Ive been here along time and feel Admin has let me down therefore I for one wont be buying anymore SS for supporting this game as they wont support me as a player I didnt ask to be hacked and still dont know how it was done after almost 5 years or more playing and being in several other games of this type I find it very odd that it was SGW only that got hacked while I can find no trace of a password thief and have NEVER given my account info to anyone

So what YOU'RE saying is that someone could hack enough accounts to become untouchable and YOU'RE ok with that. Gee, Marshall you know I feel for you bro, but the answer is simple. Learn to hack* and you'll pwn all. At least that's the admins stance.

*Disclaimer: I'm in no way the hacker, impressed myself by being able to qoute the ADMIN , and if the admin doesn't like this, then maybe this shouldn't be there stance. Just tossin' that one out there.

you have to be kidding me, this is how players get treated when they devote their time to your game?? OMG what is so hard about tracing where his resources went and returning them? They obviously dont belong to the person who has them and whoever it is they obviously got them illegally, considering that resources in this game have a tangible value Id call that theft.

well if you read.. it shows that there was a trade broker set, yet rejected? Also.. if the account was ascended, which causes all usual resources to be lost towards ascending, then is it possible 1) the resources went towards the ascension and with that in mind 2) look at the ascending log. it should show the amount of resources used in ascending? Since no resources where actually "lost", could you not return the resources used, and remove his account back to the state ascended wise i.e. LG+1, LG+2 or whatever it was. just a thought.

With the above possibility in mind, the resources dont need to be located. therefor not going against your new policy

This depends on whether the resources were sent to one account or multiple accounts. If those resources were then sold in the usual way to innocent players. The web of resources gets very complicated and too difficult to untangle.

I don't mind this too much, as the hacker just ascended me and used my brokers to reject Marshall's brokers, I just want the defense buffed up to prevent this from happening again. I mean come on 2 accounts hacked at the same time, and most likely by the same person.

Now I know this doesn't belong here, but how about having a page where you have to click a number password, about 4 digits long in order to change the email or password? That way hackers cant use the keylogger. Also the number pad should be a random place if possible.

that means someone can hack and destroy accounts every week of every player and you wont give a damm :

Sorry, but that is total BS, this site has users putting real money into the game, and you store there passwords in plain text, anyone who got access could easily get access to everyones account, so are you going to start giving back all the $$ to the users who's accounts get hacked because of your real bad security around here, its like opening a bank account and the bank giving your pin number to the next person that walks in the door, thanks for your money but hey its not our fault if it gets stolen......

I think its time this community made it aware to every new user coming to the game not to put any $$ into it at all, your investment is just not safe.

That's an outrageous and irresponsible statement !!!!

All hacks should be tracked to fullest extent possible and no-one should be allowed to benefit from cheating, SGW resources having a RL £$ value, this policy of not tracking the resources of future hacks will encourage hackers to make a quick buck

I asked you just once for a favour and you solved the problem very quickly and fair. So I know you a as guy who is taking care about the game. My statement about the problem about Marshall has nothing to do with him being a member of DDE or not. I (we) love the game, cause you are giving us a feeling you invest a lot of time to make the game interesting and the most important fair. Fairness is the key word. The one who invest time or money or whatever have to have good accounts and the one who didn't- well the they will have to bad ones. I have known Marshall for some time now and he is of the ones who like the game. And he is playing fair!!!
If you don't help him it will be the wrong msg to all other players. The msg will be: "guys **Filtered** happens and I don't care- don't care about the guys who invest time and know how in the game". And that will be wrong- just my opinion
But I am sure you care!!!
I (as a just an ordinary player) would be very thankful if I knew fairness is important for you.

P.S My opinion has nothing has nothing to do that Marshall is in our family. I will tell the same about my enemies. Will be very thankfull if you solve the problem!!!

I am very dissapointed to read your current stance on being hacked admin team !!!
Why is it suddenly a problem to return resources that have been stolen due to no fault of the owner of the account ??
It surely is YOUR responsibility to make this game safe for your members and if that safety is compromised then again it's YOUR responsibility to return the account to its previous state !!!!!
Why should the member whoever he/she may be have to lose all they have worked hard for just because you have decided that you can't be assed to return the stuff :S
I call for some common sense and fairness to prevail here so we can all move on and continue to play in the knowledge that our accounts are safe, and if they are breached we can be assured we wont lose out !!!
If you insist on holding ground on your current ideals then for me at least this game is lost and i am certain the majority will agree the game wont last long as ppl will start to leave because whats the point in playing a game where you could lose everything in the blink of an eye and have no chance of having it returned ..

Please see sense here Admin Team and do the right thing !!!!

I take it you are just assuming that it was the game security that was compromised???
You don't for one second think that the users may have been compromised in some other way?
I seriously doubt this was an "actual" hacking.

Or am I wrong and Admin has actually admitted that a security flaw has been breached???

I wouldnt know mate , all i know is two accounts both got hacked at same time by what we are assuming the same guy . If it is a case of careless handling of loggin details by the account owners then that is extremely random to say the least , no i would say this guy has managed to get into their accounts by some other means (no clue what ) lol .
My problem is with the refusal of Admin Team to return the goods to the true honest players who do not deserve to be ripped off like this !!
