i would be curious on 3 things...
1) does an email go out on new registrations?
2) if you change your email address in the profile, do email notifications start?
3) do you have it set to give you notifications (after update did that change?)

I have just created a test account 'Clarkey_test'. I have not received an email yet.

2) No, I tried but it didn't work.. it didn't register my attempt at changing my address at all.
3) Yes.

(I think all of us who don't receive these notifications have them set to "send", otherwise we wouldn't notice it. But I may be very wrong.)

in my experience:
1) no. when this account was created before the update, i received no email on registration OR activation.
2) i havent tried this but i'd prefer to keep using the same email for this account.
3) for activation obviously no such choice is available. i dont know what happens in registrations post update, whether theres an email notification checkbox or whatever, but pre update this wasnt the case.
hope that helps. (yes, i do realise im not the only one, but if through more experiences under different circumstances a diagnosis may be easier.)
on a slightly related topic, Did this update effect the free forums hosted on the herebegames server? i administrate another forum hosted there, and ive come across issues when the SGW main forum is down.
Can people refrain from testing this out. It has been tested and email notifications do not go out. Therefore reactivation emails do not get sent and you will not be able to log back in. So please do not test this out. Thanks, Clarkey.

I'll agree. I'm one of the silly fools who tested this one out, and it really causes only harm. If you've already changed your email, be patient, admin will come around to re-activating you. The process doesn't need any notifications, so a delay in re-activation doesn't mean that it's not working, it only means that the admins are on holiday ATM, which causes a bit of a delay.
Thanks to Admin Sue, Clarkey and Bazsy who answered my questions and for helping me back online again.

also as one of the XIII's already said, the issue is not only effecting the SGW forum. this also effects other HBG hosted forums.

I've supplied Admin with a possible fix to the problem. Will just have to wait and see if it works. Fingers crossed.
