yea, my newly ascended officer keeps asking me questions about ascended that i dont know how to answer cos i know stuff all about it myself, i mean i know enough to get by, and my CER is big enough to cover all my trained planets if i got completly 0ed in 2 days, and when it comes to killin other ppls planets, i can do it fine, just not all that cheaply on my side, actualy, with almost double losses on my half

someone realy needs to write a help guide for ascended.

pretty much the only important things to buy are CER and techs. the personal strength techs get useless at a certain point.

assassin tech should be as high as it can. the rest of the techs can be built in accordance with how people want to play. if you want a small defense and to farm a lot you want lots of strike techs. if you want to play defensive you buy a bunch of defense techs.

covert tech is not very useful although it is nice not to have to train up a bunch of covert planets when farming.

income techs are nice if you have a small army but want to have a nice income. plus they're dirt cheap

and if you are assassinating someone and you kill x networks, you are really killing x*5 planets because each network is 5 planets, so I'm surprised that you would lose more than you kill.

Depends a bit on his techs how much he kills to how much he suicides.

I know various alliances have got guides for stuff in Ascension some detailed some just an overview, though they don't really get shared a lot.

Though -insert usual complaint about ascension- at the moment it's a little skewed towards snippering style of play.

Yer. I used to have an ascended account. Didn't really play it as I didn't understand the point of it too much. I agree, nobody rly there to teach, although Tacet did actually help me a bit... So I set out on a misison to just stat build like heck and see how high a rank I could get. Maintained top rank for about 3 days before someone obliterated my account from 5 bill to 100 mill

Have since sold the account and don't plan on ascending anytime soon.

It is one big hunk of information, all ready and open for everyone to see.
Generally, you're considered a fool if you whine about how ascension is impossible to play because you are small and the rest is not.. but as soon as you ask better questions, you get better answers. That is the way it went for me, and I believe it still is the way to go.
The quality of your questions is decisive for the quality of answers. Of course, there is the occasional jerk who just likes to laugh and nothing else.. but those are still a minority. If you run into one, write down the ID and visit them after you took someone's advice and became something to be reckoned with.

I agree with Lois - everything I know about ascended I was taught by two bigger players. I especially remember a very long MSN with a current Δ member, who patiently told me exactly what each type of attack does, how much kills an attack gives, when to use what... There are bigger players who're friendly enough to give advise to, well, a noob.

but how do new players know how to ask high quality questions? often i would hear is... what does this do? you might be told what it does... but unlike Tacet, i never had anyone who actually taught me when to use certain skills, etc etc..

I met my advisor in my incoming attack logs.
@Amar - there are a few alliances who caters for the new ppl as well. We i.e. run a "bootcamp" where we have more experienced ppl who try to teach the new ppl the basics. I believe there other who also does it.

So, lemme get this streaght... This is an "education programme" for ascended lol? A-Educators heh? Fancy that irony lol. Can TLE members join or will we get crucified for it heh?

Lol, no. We actually try to teach the new ppl IN OUR ALLIANCE what's going on without killing of their accounts in the process. We'll give guides, advise, answer all those noob questions... Example: someone is assaulted directly, and doesn't know how to prevent himself from being descended (and yes, there are ppl who doesn't know how!). We'll then explain how cache works and how to refill reserves from cache. Silly thing, really, but it makes their life a bit easier.

Not related to the Educator idea. I think TLE members will be welcome to join if they're willing to write some good guides. We actually need properly written info on ascended. Most of our really new ppl aren't ascended yet, so our teaching is focussed on main. I wonder how many ppl on this forum would be interested in joining such a noob-helping program? Might not be a bad thing, at that.

Where do you see coordinated attacks against accounts of a specific setup?

This is no "education programme", it's an education programme. Without the sense your Legionnaires (and some others, yes) put into the concept.

not really education. i just do it to get their dmu without having to raise my strike.
