ok, thanks for the help anyways guys 
Earlier this year I stripped nearly all of his planets... They were all pretty nice UP planets with 30B defenses... Made a nice additions to my crappy planets.... He said he would be taking them all back, so I took another one and he ran to perg...
Would have expected more from Squall, but he just seemed not very active, I doubt he logged in more than twice a month...
