Empires are just safe heavens.

If you make money off this game (not criticizing anyone) and u are given a choice whether to join a regular alliance or a Empire which has 200+ members and has NAPs on half the server and most of the powerful alliances, which way would u go?

if your goal is to just have fun while playing a game, why have pacts and be allies with most of the top 10 alliances? Oh I know, its like cheating, its like a shortcut, a way that is easier to build ur account.

I play games with my friends....and we try destroy each other because its a.....uhmmm...oh right...a game. People take this game so seriously.

If one Empire is created, eventually another Empire will rise up just to keep it balanced and **Filtered**. So if players resist the tendency to expand the alliance beyond being an alliance, maybe....just maybe this game would be better off.


We should scrap NAPs and Military pacts along with Empires.

Being friends is just being used as an excuse to dominate the game is all im saying.

All true, i agree.

For one i think why this game is being taken so seriously is because it involves money.
Perhaps Forum should forbid that and then things will go allot better?

bottom line...
It is the way of things, dress it up in any name you want, say anything you want to say about it, or do what you want. It will always happen, it will always be the way of such things. You can say it is bad, yet most of your are part of an empire or coalition of alliances, or have been at some point and most likely have very happily partaken in their general conduct and activities.

As for this issue being detrimental to the future of the game...
The past is history, the future A MYSTERY, but today is a gift. That is why some old fart decided to call it the present.

None of you have a clue what the future of the game is, I would have liked someone back in February 2005 to have told me at some point we would be where we all are now..OE, TJP (broken up..pft...lol..are we all that stupid?) ascension, planets, motherships, the 'downward spiralling' attitude and social code of the game.... please....

I agree with Semper, people love being in Empires, its just the next step off of alliances.

I say no because you can not stop empires from forming. even if people in empires were forced to remove their empire tags. The empire would still exist just not on the screen. I agree with the person that said that they are the next evolution in the game as far as alliances are concerned.

Well, I take my hat off to you.. but I don't think one or two people leaving to form irrelevant, offshoot alliances is going to make a hell of a lot of difference in the long time. For real change to occur there's going to have to be major alterations in the way that the vast majority of the playerbase looks at the game.

odd u said u left cause you hadnt been doing anything in the war anyway ..hmm

anyways all this sounds like pure jealousy .. you cant have what the empires have so u down talk them.. u join one and ind you cant compete on that level so u leave and say how bad it is..

its like sports only the fans of the best teams like them everyone else will say there all hype or they aint really that good or they cheat or whatever .. just a bunch of haters.. grow up you dont like us cause we are better than you than admit it.. I play this game to purely dominate its what playing a war game is about being the dominant force killing off your competition.. the other side willalways hate us for that ..

sure people will join to hide behind tags but eventually they get found out cause when your in a group that does nothing but war all the time and that prescious account keeps getting destroyed the real stay the fake fun...

if you leave your friends in time of need you are a COWARD a RUNNER and a TRAITOR and I DONNOT care what your reason is you can be in my alliance and hate me but a real MAN will saty and fight not run like a punk..

While I respect and have friends in several component alliances of the empires, I dont like the concept of empires themselves. If an alliance cant stand by itself then it's pointless and theres no way you will be friends with or even know personally every member of an empire, whereas small independent alliances tend to be close knit groups of good friends.

Pointless really, it's all been said before and you cant turn back time, empires are here to stay.

odd we maynot speak to every member every day but we do communicate with each other on a weekly basis every new member is introduced to the entire empire... so if u dont know everyone in an empire your in then ask yourself am I here just for the tag..?

The time of need is long gone, perhaps in the 1st 5 days of the war..
Not everybody has the need to fight for some power hungry people..
Nor to fight a 6months farmfest

"Friendship" is a silly argument, you could easly strip empires down to one or two alliances of friends, rest is balast. As has been evidently shown in this war, size of the respective combating empires has cca halved and activity is woefull lol.

It`d be super to see them all gone but alas there is prolly precious little chance of that ever happening... It`s a nice coexistance in those empires, some ppl get e-ego boosts running large empires and the majority of members in them are there for the cool factor and the substantional benefits. Fat chance for either of them to change their ways, imho. And ever since GA&CF SGW has been about strenght in numbers and little else. build a superblock/counterblock. Weight weight WEIGHT.

Best you can hope for is for them to get bogged down in a perpetual war thus limiting their negative impact on the gabe by being generally preoccupied with eachother heh. Thats about the only way to dent their size too, 5 months in 50% members down. But you wont finish them off, beyond a certain point either, nomatter howlong it lasts. There will allways be a die hard core of calculators that are wither hopefull of a big payday at the and of it all and/or those too "proud" to give an inch in any field to any one, especially not to *insert opposing empires name*. So you have "empires" that are really shells at this stage, ppl rather vacationing and drifting from the game etc. etc. All for those proud proud banners heh.

But hey, party on, I wanna see us both hit 25% original strenght. Atleast then we will have achieved some measure of good, even if we negated it all by screwing up certain mechanics like MSs lol...
