Cheers for the help guys, but I've tried all of these things. Still no joy. Rebooted, rebooted the router, deleted all cookies, removed all previous browser settings, set everything to accept everything and so on and so on. Still finding myself in a rut. Without GateWars.

I'm a little concerned, and not to criticise the admin staff, but there are posts that were posted days after mine that have been dealt with. I wouldn't mind so much, but this account I paid for with hard currency (and I know you don't accept responsibility for cash trades) but you have to feel slightly down-trodden by these things, no?

Please would someone look at this, or at least let me know if it's a fault at my end of the world and not yours?

Regards,

Dusty.

(and again, thank you to those giving concern)

Well i doubt its the account causing it, else it would just tell you that you where banned, its got to be something on your end causing the problem

Try and run a trace to the SGW home page from the command prompt, and see if it is timing out before it gets to the server.

I swear my officer had this exact same issue yesturday, she said everything bar SGW was working, and after a router reset it was working okies.

Are you behind a firewall or anything that could be blocking the site at all?

You'll have to excuse me GC, I'm not exactly a network engineer, nor a PC hardware hardcore know-about.

I think I understand what this entails, but I'm not exactly sure about how to go about it? I've been through the 'self-diagnostic' on o2's (my service provider) software. It even allows you to renew/refresh the IP. Which has not worked, I've rebooted since then, and still find myself banging my head against the wall with a 'page cannot be displayed error'.

I've tried three different browsers like I said? Is there anything I can do with CMD? Or is it just best to contact my brother who excels in all this network related fun?

Not to be an arse, but the admin probably took care of those people who posted after you because they were banned for negative naq/UU and thus unable to play. They were unable to play because something on the SGW server side of things.

With your case, I hate to say it, seems to be on your end. You can access other pages from your house, and you can access SGW from other computers. You are unable to play (at your home computer) because of something on your end of things.

Up until about 4 days ago I was having the same problem with Lego's Calc. Everyone else could access it no problem, but it wouldn't come up for me. Other webpages worked just fine. It seems to have fixed itself just a couple days ago. This sounds kinda like a problem we were having in another online game that me and my friends played E2025. I believe it had something to do with DNS servers not being updated or something? Perhaps that might have something to do with this.

Occasionally i get the page can not be displayed error when i go through IE. If it happens i type stargatewars into google and click on the first link in the search results and i normally get straight in. Don't know if this will help you but it's worth a try.

Problem solved. Turns out o2 have been having some DNS server issues lately. A customer service rep had a further tinkle in my computer via remote access and made it work. Good on him.

Apologies for being a pain in the backside.
