SGW History – my addition to this great project

I. The Beginning - 2005

A. Beginning of the game

In february, the 1st, a new game appeared on the net. It was called stargatewars. At this time, ranks were possible to be seen without being logged in.

A preview of old school SGW, as you can see, it was totally different from now. In this era, first alliances were SLA (not the one made by Tnarg, but by Ailm), The Spymasters, TAA, Order of Chaos, Replicator Truth Movement, and few others. Then I joined at end of February.

Here’s a topic about old skool players: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9230 You will probably recognize some names, players till around, and others who left a while ago.
One of first wars happened between Order of Chaos and a guy called GuiltySpark413, who bragged to be strongest Goa’uld. OoC destroyed him and his allies, and he got defeated. A guy who was called Concur, also got massed. I was in The Enemy Within, with people such as Sleipnir, A-zana, _Apophis__, Saturnine, Farbauti, lady_alex.

It was during those times that Silent Todd was ranked 1, _Apophis__ being other one who was running for rank 1. Sabotages hurt much during those times: all weapons were wiped out by two sabotages, I was sabbed by Mouth of Tokra for being a Goauld who role-played a little too much. It was time of foot of tok’ra, lies of tok’ra, who were in reality OoC members mocking tok’ra on forums.

_Apophis__, who had biggest amount of officers (about 30), was in OoC, then for some reason I don’t remember of, get Omega and OoC after him, was in may 2005. THE SAZ, Lord Dougy and the 3rdlibra led OoC. Was time of race wars, such as OoC vs TAA/EPA. When there was no supers, no motherships, no raiding, no assassins, no ascension.

B. End of an era and beginning of a new one

End of OoC glory: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9172 , after 3rdlibra quit the game. OoC was one of strongest and influent alliances in this era, being active as much in roleplay part as in ingame wars part.

Creation of Omega happened during those monthes (need topic), coming from first wave of Quantum ( http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4759/snap00308gb9.jpg ). AK got created in May 2005. ( viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2376 ). AK then divided during the plague operation later on the year. Eternal Knights got created after Dyneasty got some people leaving Bahamut’s alliance. Bahamut was supreme leader of AK at those times. ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13691 ).

Most famous alliance during game time being pure Goa’uld/System Lord, the System Lord Alliance, the one created by Tnarg, (not the one mentioned earlier which was created by Ailm) viewtopic.php?f=103&t=2740 ). We can also mention end of RTM ( viewtopic.php?f=103&t=1636 ), the major Replicators alliance, then appearance of Unnatural Selection (no topic sadly). War between TO and EPA, one of most remembered old wars, as one of biggest wars dated from 2005: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10329 . Often quoted as a reference of old school wars.


Noticeable updates during those days being without a doubt: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=570 Motherships topic by me long ongoing until it got finally introduced, which was not too much long later: ( viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8685 ). When ascension appeared on sgw now, found the original topics about ascension…The original topic about ascension ( viewtopic.php?f=30&t=6227 ), the one regarding first ascended people( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7557 ), ascended races (http://herebegames.com/StarGateWarsNew/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7278 ). Unlike many thought, ascension is quite older as you see, it already did exist in 2005, so did Motherships.

C. Grand Alliance early days

Grand Alliance got created in November 2005. It was made of Omega, UTA and EPA, ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11515 ). Didn’t take them much time to get enemies, like The Grand Alliance ( viewtopic.php?t=13775 ), appeared as one of first enemies of the GA, made by brothercrit and Xizor. The Resistance ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11667 ) was the other anti GA force. Now we can mention first conflicts that did happen before famous Faction vs GA that occurred in late 2006, viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13063 war on Omega in ascension by nebulator and people from TGA (2005).
Also, it is worth to mention Nebulator and JUAN viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13064 . Another war that did occur in early GA days, was Brothercrit (from The Grand Alliance) versus GA (Omega UTA Alpha EPA) ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14141 ).

For a good list of decent alliances of middle 2005, just have a look in those two threads: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8332 , viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4613 . Those topics aren’t much worthy in strict historical terms, but it’s still good to see least important topics as they are sometimes funny to read.
Another great alliance of this time, Unseen Threat Alliance, who was member of GA, later changed name to SDM and joined Liberum Coalition. UTA wasn’t much popular for its policy about farming: UTA “feedback” viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14412 . For a list of UTA enemies: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17409 .

D. Other noticeable people/events

Esker changed from Asgard to Goa’uld and then became a charismatic leader of Goa’ulds. Much people get annoyed at him: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6133 and his alliance, Esker Alliance (http://herebegames.com/StarGateWarsNew/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=2951 ). Until he scammed people from his alliance, Esker was one of the most respected & feared Goa’ulds in this game.
JUAN, was the first person to get to Living God level, under the name PHILOS: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10691
