If it's made like it was on feb 05 origin will be boring. However summer/autumn 05 had the good things: alliance "tags", bank, PPT, motherships coming out. I'll have to look when supers came out.
Yep, if it's really original sgw...expect no bank, no motherships, no alliance tags, no supers, no miners, no PPT (so when you buy SS stuff is not saved on a PPT...quite bad as you spent money for SS).
So let's hope it's end of 2005 and not early 2005 version! There wasn't yet planets, anticovert, nox..

yeah that would be cool, perhaps if they added the MSS? for this as well? you know the way it was you had to have been playing 2 weeks before you could buy yourself the MSS with ingame ressources. which ment you only had access to the market.
i cant remember though when you ascended was it like getting a free MSS, or as if you paid for the FSS? as i remember you being able to trade 1000 gnr for a status (to be able to broker) which im assuming stuck threw and threw as with my first ascension i was able to broker

Jim,
My dream for Origins may be a bit of a stretch when I call it Origins.
I really wanted this to be put forth so that when a war starts, it has meaning, when it ends, it has a meaning.
I suggested them we make this server and pushed it hard in the sense that it would be the same game we play now, minus some of the major updates that Jason can not simply "Undo" or "Fix".
This means, Planets, Ascended, Raiding, so on so forth.
It's really only the big things that I complain about, and it all goes back to the same situation that I want to see from the day Origin's start, to the day it ends. For every action that one takes, they will have to think and put effort into it. The game will require more thought, no raiding your way to the top, no buying your way to the top, and certainly no ppting all the time.
Of course there will be a few things that the we the players will need to decide on, but for the most part we all agree on the same thing!

Jason CAN simply undo or fix them, all he has to do is do it. Hes just too worried someone will get mad.
Well Su make a list of all updates, both good and bad, and poll them.

I'd like to see the core fundamentals fix as well, such as covert and anti should be like att and def. Things such as that.
Complete destruction should be allowed in my opinion either. Either allow a certain amount of "Lifers" either a set % of total size or tie it to your UP. The bigger the UP the higher the "Safe Zone" of unkillable UU. But still keep the safe zone small.
With no bank it will be enormously hard to reach high techs. That may be a good thing tho.

This game needs:
-PPTs (people have jobs and real life...if they dont have time, they'll not play this game at all, as there wont be PPTs)
-Bank (no bank is just meh, another 24/7 required from people, we are humans, not machines)
-Motherships (they are cool, without MSs techs/raiding for getting uus they wont become giant)
-Supers (soldiers are too weak)
-Transfers account to account by SS/USS (helping each others without extra ressources coming from sky)
-brokers (avoids scamming)
-Alliances/rank titles (they are nice)
-Leader of alliance can have commander
-Realm alerts
-Titles like (God/Elder God, Supreme Commander/Absolute Commander, General/5 Stars General, First/Immortal First) for commanders and the ones for officers (First Prime, Fleet Commander, Colonel, Second)
Doesn't need:
-Raids
-Planets / Fleets
-Mothership techs
-Ascension
-Lifer suicide
-Ingame market for ATs/uu (stuff coming from sky)

Personally i think that Origins server will be interesting, I'm intent on hearing some views from Admin Mark on how for sees the new server. i personally agree with:

i wasn't around at the start of SGW unfortunately. but can someone explain to me what it was like making Untrained Units killable, personally i don't understand this feature?

This game needs:
-PPTs I say let there be a vacation mode that is a lil more accessable than the current one and let is serve as a PPT, that way if people can't play they can't grow, but it still gives them a way from being destroyed if they have to leave for a day or so.
-Bank-Yes
-Motherships ~not really needed but couldnt hurt as well....
-Supers -No need, If nobody has Supers then what does it matter...
-Alliances/rank titles -Yes, a very nice update
-Leader of alliance can have commander -Nah, doesn't need to happen, leaders should have to sacrafice something for the power over thier alliance mates.
-Realm alerts - No
-Titles ingame - Cant hurt
-Military Exprience, it doesn't hurt really, just dont rank it... or score it.... just have it be a way to keep track of what you have done
Possibly a lil faster AT regeneration or more per turn
Doesn't need:
-Raids
-Planets / Fleets
-Mothership techs
-Ascension
-Lifer suicide
-Ingame market
-UP circles with COs

Trading will screw up the server asap as people will buy resources in origin with naq in main.
Of course the "buy weapons / sell them / get attacked" can't be stopped and I'm sure it will be used and abused as it will give a huge advantage in the beginning.
So even if I like the idea very much I don't have much hope for the server.
