could we also keep it ontopic if we try to get a general community oppinion?
In my eyes someone who's spending 50$ on a planet is loco. with 50$ u can do so much more in the game then buy a plent wich u then have to merlin and build up in order that others cant steal it.

Have to agree.
Like I said, I see people getting 1 which can be merlined, past that they will only steal one if the oppurtunity arises. They won't invest to much into keeping it tho.

I think it really is just a money making add on to the game.
It'll affect the market on duals for one thing.
It'll possibly lower the worth of normal planets (If lots of people buy duals)
What I think should've happened was that the dual option should've been put in as a random draw for $25 and that way the person paying for it did it out of donation to the game possibly, it would also allow for the chance of maybe getting a trip planet but these are just thoughts that should've probably been posted before the update came in

I think this is one step beyond, i.e MADNESS
I know of only 1 person who would have enough money to buy them and then buy naq to keep them, but that is if they Stop loosing it in the casinos. YuO know who I am talking to you crazy bugger.
Back on Topic. Even merlins given out, unless you pay another $50 for supporter pack you wil never have enough.
With the planets are easy taken option, then you need to be very brave.
I think that if you buy one, it changes to Unconquerable. Just for one.
Any other you buy I think there has to be additional defences which makes it cheaper to build up. Also, it comes with its own platform.
Otherwise, waste of money

firstly everyone saying they are too expensive is nuts, people already pay more than that on the black market, with the in game market you get to pick which type you want (within reason, not every dual is on offer) and there is no danger of being scammed or having the location sold afterwards.
The problem is that any old monkey with either a big credit card or the desire to convert naq/UU/AT into $$ can get as many dual planets as they want. Sure they have to buy USS to protect more than 1 with merlins, but if they can afford to buy 10 dual planets for cash they can afford to keep them on merlins by buying USS's.
6 months down the line we will see multiple accounts with 5 or more dual att/def planets owning everyone in sight for next to no losses.
I have no idea why this got added as no one was asking for it, it's easily the worst idea i have seen since planets got added. Everyone knows planets are too powerful, make the game largely meaningless due to massive recovery rates and/or very cheap stats.

If you have a r0om full of planets, and naq,and units, and turns, such as stargate itself has and u see that your moving (selling)al0t of units, and turns and naq 0ut to players, and your n0t moving (selling)the planets than you find a way to move the planets //if you put a broke down car in the front yard someone will buy it just as with Dualies put it 0ut thereand some one will buy im for it I L0VE STARGATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Admin removed the ability to generate duals randomly from the in-game market. After all, you don't want you own random number generator in your code costing you $50 every time the dice roll doesn't come up in your favor.
Meh, I can't blame the guy for wanting to generate some income from the game. I'd probably do the same thing, especially given the amount of complaining and whining I had to endure.

Personally I wouldn't buy them unless I won the jackpot on the National Lottery, but I'm sure a lot of SGW players have more money than sense. Good luck trying to hold on to them.
