Piles of crudd?
Mercedes CL is epic!
So is the CLS!
Bentley that's bit too huge for me lol...Bentley Continental SC or Azure lool it's like tanks

The only problem i have with the Mercedes is the way that the rear looks, oh and the weight to power ratio,oh yeah and the price. But aside from that it is a great car. Then lets talk about the Bentley. Few people that are not Oil Sheiks or upper crust Brits can really pull that look off. and besides you don't drive your own Bentley that is just not done
Mercedes aren't cheap true, but at least there's many reasons for their price.

And at least Mercs aren't cars used for "compensating" something!

Sure the SLR McLaren Roadster is one of those, but usually Mercedes isn't making "show off" cars, while their cars often look better than those "show off" cars.

And at least, in a Mercedes you can be 4 sitting in it without any problems...unless you drive a SLK roadster, of course..
Seriously, how can one not admire such design?

actually..... mercs seem to be an 'omg lookit me i has money to splash with' kind of thing...... i mean they do make nice cars but like Jaguar and Ferrari i dont want one because in my opinion theyre reserved for those who have the money - and want to rub it in ppls faces....... i guess it would be the same with an Audi (like the S8 i mentioned earlier.....) but not too much so. they arent at the head of the luxury market, they arent "too" pretty (they are pretty just not an over the top pretty, hence the quotes around too). in my style while not rubbing it about ppls faces is great. why i like BMW's also, i mean yes the M3 i showed earlier is damn expensive, its other versions isnt. for instance that M3 brand new would set me back around 110k AUD, last time i checked was MONTHS ago. who knows what it'll be now with the economy the way it is..... now the basic 328i sedan (what i'd love) would only be about 30k AUD. on a small salary i's get something like that in a few years of saving but heh not like waiting a decade or so for the M version or the basic C or S class merc.....
/rant.... methinks you see my point.....

Mercs and BMW's all look the same, much the reason why I don't like any Porches apart from the Carrera GT. I don't like how BMW's and Mercs all look the same either. I've never been in a Merc but I have been in a BMW. Nothing all that special really.
I agree that a Merc is nothing more than a way to show you have enough money to buy one. I'm sure there are far better cars you could buy for less than a new Merc.
If you want to go luxury I would have to say to go the Lexus or Japans (toyota) version. I have been in the passenger seat of a Toyota Altezza aka Lexus IS200. Now that is a luxury car. was made back in '98 and is still more advanced than any normal road car.

Mercs don't look the same. Granted, they all look better than the rest, but doesn't make them look same!
I've been in Mercedes E Class taxis and hmmm once you sit there you DONT want to get out!
Lexus aren't bad of course, never been in one, but doubtless they don't equal MB.

but seriously:

1. lower road tax (50%)!
2. diesel engine - cheaper and better!
3. use it to do some delivery jobs - pays for petrol and insurance!
4. never mind the clampers - park on loading bays!
5. going somewhere with a girl? queen size mattress at the back is more comfy than any back seat
