"terminators vs cylons" if there was character shields, you'd have at least half a dozen Cylons, to 3 terminators... which would NEVER die. this means by default, the Cylons win due to having more numbers remaining no matter how many times the world is destroyed.

so, either we take that logic, or no character shields.
