Re: Your most....

I don't have one.
To be really honest I take all inspirations for the character of Semper from other fictional characters I encounter whilst I read, watch TV and movies and of course from my true self. So personally, you should look to Cox, Kelso, V, Ben Linus, House, Anubis..generally a lot of eccentric intelligent villains or tragic heroes.

More on topic though...
I could say a few players are inspirational to different people for different reason's.
You've got Jordan Sullivan because of her continuous diabolical plans and mind games. You've got Mordack because of his fledging honesty and respect. You have Esker because he used the chaos of the old SGW days to full advantage, since the game has changed..no one has ever been able to repeat his acts with quite the same attempts, and never will be. You've got Ghosty Goo because he was a complete and utter nutt, yet horribly intelligent. You have Buck and myself.. because we really do go our own way with things. You have Jack because he walks the fine line better even than I do. You have Nightmare/Murkar/Severian because of their creative talent. MLH because of her maturity and all round loveliness..

I really could go on through all the current and old main characters of SGW.. the inspiration, amongst other things, they give is why they are and have been the main characters of the game.

Huxley - as much of an moron as he could be, he was a top block and an awesome commander.

Taxo - as he has taught me so much over the time i have been here.

Stu - he is a great leader and always sticks by his alliance members though thick and thin no matter what.

Eros, Blahh and JXM - coz they could farm the server and get away with it

Re: Your most....

I won't use their real names because if I do, I know they will act all cocky like. [-(

Mr. X: Taught me everything in this game, one of the long standing players that still commands respect even amongst his enemies. Keeps his cool no matter what is thrown at him.

Mr. Y: I built my account around his while trying to catch him even knowing I never would. He taught me a bunch in this game like Mr. X, but then he went to DDE from mH so he now sucks to me. :x :(

Ms. Z: She has always been there for me. She taught me and helped me along my way to becoming a better person, and player in this game. The information she has given me about SGW over the past year has been a great help as well into my ability to still play this game. Her hugs are so nice as well. :-$

Now, who can guess my three?

1: Orpheus
2: Rodwolf
3: Caprila

:P

Oh wait...crap i stated the obvious.

My most inspirational people in the game are of course

Orpheus for being one of the Alliance Leaders in the game and always up for a scrap and never backs down.

Noobert for his better than thou attitude and the fact that he now dislikes/hates me...can you feel the love? But in all seriousness...he worked hard and built his account showing that any noob can come from nothing to something.

And my last and personal favourite.

Disturbed_One for being the wacky individual that he is and teaching me so much about the game and always causing trouble for me lol.

Re: Your most....

I have a few.

Psicolix - Helped me develop a more advanced strategy of play. Great guy
Bl1p - Started as a key diplomatic contact when I was leader of US. Became a good friend
Bam$e - Good guy who knows his priorities. Rarely allows anyone under his skin.

But my #1 would have to be Lore, although it pains me to say it. He has a good head on his shoulders and plays the game well. I don't recall him ever bullying and has been a key combatant in all 6 wars I've fought against DDE. Knows how to separate RL from the game. He is the perfect example of how to be a nice guy in game, while bashing your face in.

Similarly, I believe that people in general are inherently flawed. Deep down, we are programmed to hurt one another; either physically or emotionally. People are naturally selfish and greedy; governed more by bestial urges than common sense or ethics. Society is a terrible thing, too. The more supposedly civilized we become, the more immorality and decadence become the main staple of our daily diet.

Before Lost concluded, my main flippant excuse for not killing myself was that I wanted to know how it ended. I will get back to you with a new one when I find it.

Re: Your most....

I'm gonna follow the trend and name a few, several are no longer playing though.

The O-Neill - Fantastic player and leader with committment to do what is needed.
Traprunner - Showed me that being aggressive is important. Also that trading can be immensely profitable.
DeathIncarnator - He somehow managed to get me back into playing even though I'd quit.
Lore - A worthy adversary with a good brain.
SlimD - Good honest trader and a good friend, leads his alliance well.
and more recently Valume - Showed me that the little guys can fight back amazingly well and not to take army size for granted.

Re: Your most....

My inspirations were many of the old guard at the TA who stuck with us and continued to lead even when we were at our darkest hour, people like Oneill, Nox, Hawkeye, Valhalla, Manetheren, list goes on. Without them, I wouldn't have stayed in sgw past a month or two and to protect their legacy is why I keep going today.

Re: Your most....

If we're allowed to include multiple people, then I'd also like to stick Bad Wolf up there with Esker. My best friend IRL, and someone whose passion and enthusiasm for the game was a formative infuence on me. Without his advice, his help, and his conversation, I doubt I'd have have got interested enough in SGW to stick at it for however many years I've been here.

Re: Your most....

Auriel/Universe/Lois Lane: She has been my commander for over 2 years, leader of my previous alliances after CIA vs CoPs war (I was second in command), she's a friend who taught me some things about life, who brought me into sgaw (game which I still play actively and still like it)..and finally helped me to improve my english which was not really really good! :P
