I will cede that point to you to be a full body altering addiction will take time but even a single hit changes your body chemistry and is able to cause a physical addiction and since no two people are the same physiologically it is impossible to say without a shadow of a doubt that everyone will react in a certain way but im bout to head out for a bit will try and pick this up later

I'm not against alcohol, of course. Just against abusive use of it that causes street violence and car accidents.

Right, the one substance that you describe to have a much more damaging effect on those that don't use it then the others is also the one you are less against. Don't 'spose that has anything to with you enjoying a good alcoholic beverage every now and then, does it?


That said, I am all for banning things like pot. But I am biased as I have a strong distaste for potheads.

People on drugs are often mad crazy and uncontrolable...if we allow them, and since it's not a beverage, it's not going to have same outcome.
Alcohol is also used for gastronomic food, drugs aren't. You can't appreciate any other drug the same as you do with alcohol. Rest is no drink with good taste and negative effect only thru excess.
If you take a lass of alcohol you will not die from it, however, chances to die from hard drugs are much more higher. If we want to have an increase in death rate, let's allow drugs...and people will fall like flies.

Drugs only kill those too stupid to use them with any kind of responsibility. Simple fact is most people jsut dont know enough about how these so called 'illegal' drugs work and so when they do get hold of them they dont know how to limit the drugs effects, leading to the issues you describe.

If instead unbiased scientific information was released that shows how these drugs work & what each of them does to you it would be possible for the majority to safely handle them.

Dont spout gov propoganda about drugs, i mean they have been caught out lying about drugs so many times its untrue anyone would listen to anything they have to say on the matter. (and it doesnt matter which gov you choose that to mean, they'va all lied about drugs to such an extent that even the scientists are sick of it now)

Drugs, including illegal drugs, are used routinely to save lives and numb excruciating pain, alcohol isn't. So what's your point? Oh and some drugs are used in food. Care for a brownie?

You can drink Ricin too and given that it is tasteless, you can add some flavoring and it would taste good, does that mean you should? And you can also do drugs moderately and suffer no ill effects, some even having positive effects.

LSD, extazy...I've watched a documentary about drugs & raves, believe me, they weren't really the kind of people you'd want to be face to face...

Excessive alcohol consuming= dangerous and possible to be fatal
Drugs consuming= dangerous

Yes you can...it just depends how much you take first time. You know, I've heard of more people dead by drugs than alcohol in my case. (not meaning tv etc...I mean real life people, who were former friends/children of people from my family)

Don't really care. Crack heads and pot heads want to damage themselves then, thats fine by me. A few less idiots in the world wont do it any harm.

However.. when the state has to pay for them, or when they start stealing and going after people who don't deserve it, I reckon the penalty for crimes under and for narcotics should be death. On top of that.. when it generally effects me, personally I get somewhat annoyed with it. I have seen too many good people, with great potential try drugs and fall down a dark path. Any of my closer friends and family know.. if I ever caught them or the likes. I would do my nut and probably make them suffer. XD.

It's funny because I was seeing a documentary showing "rave" people addicted to extazy and LSD, an hour ago...and it gave me the idea to start this topic!

A joint or a tab every now and then won't really do you any harm. Don't believe everything you see in your after school specials where someone does a line of coke and instantaniously they will kill to get there next gram....

Fighting drugs creates a much larger burden on the citizen then it removes(making drugs illegal is simply establishment and enforcement of some outdated form of morality, not based in reality. )

The government is not your daddy and i it shouldn't act like it is. It is meant to uphold liberty, and the ability to pursue happiness without limiting the right of your neighboor to do the same. This is the guideline that should be followed when the government acts to enforce laws and innact programs for the good of the citizens. But sometimes the will of the people goes retard and you get things like the war on drugs.

Its the society that has given you your perception of whats wrong and good, so I don't think this is an ever ending topic, however let me just say some words: Why are alcohol and cigaretes not on that list of drugs, both can cause a very serious addition, opposite for pot for example: you don't get addicted to it, it does little damage to you (alcohol does ALOT more!) and is in some countries used as an painkiller and has been known in the past as a "thinking drug". Yea I know what u all think right now, he's just another pot head, well you are sorta right I do smoke pot time to time, it helps me clear my mind, relaxes my muscules after 2h in the gym and its quite a social event lol I'd 100x times get wasted with pot then alcohol, as pot has no side affect, does not make you throw up and the morning you are as good as new (not the mention all the brain cells saved). I don't support hard drugs, but that a choise everyone has to make for themselfs and who the f**k are we to judge someone. Every "drug" can be abused, even painkillers can become an addiction. Well all in short its a choise everyone has to make for themselfs.
