Thats some very nice production work there...

Best I had seen of a UP one was over 500k a day (useless really) with over 1.8tril def.

Either way, it would be a killer cost to do so.

everyone knows why

Why is it better? Defenses don't cost so much if you have to defend only 1 very good one?

I think one possible reason, could be its easier to take back 1 if its taken then 7

Well I think the reason is because of the merlin. If you can hide that one planet then you can build it to what ever size you what. Think about it, you could build a UP planet to 1mill and no one would find it.

The only way the planet could be taken is if the person forgets to add merlin to the planet.

you get the 50% bonus on planet count, not planet abilities. Its a known exploitation that admin has been told about over and over and never saw fit to fix. Another fine example of planets being the worst update in the games history.

117,500,544,000 Income per Day 251,801 Unit Production per Day mind blowing is probably the best one Ive seen. Then this one isnt bad either: 134,842,752,000 Income per Day
200,017,080,000 Additional Defence mind blowing.

Ever tried building a def to protect a 200 bil attack planet?
Let alone that def surviving someone efforts to take it?
No one with a sane mind actually builds defenses, you're either better off selling the naq for $ and giving it to jason or not having defenses at all

what she said

if you have a base strike of 100 and a planet giving 500 strike. get another 9 planets which give you 0 strike and you will have a 600 strike.
same goes for any kind of planet

oh yeah and this is yet another reason in the long list why this system unfairly forces people to play with huge strikes instead of giving reasons to build a defense

Yet you could do the same thing with a def planets :P and would counter act those people that have strike planets

no you cant
1) def planets cost 1.5-2 times more to upgrade than attack planets
2) even if you take planets out of the picture, massing is still hella cheap (unless the MS strike of attacker is less than 10% of Defense that is being massed)

Then try to get the cost equalized instead of complaining. About, the MS then invest in ur MS so its huge

I'm complaining? I'm stating facts
I've played both methods here. Both the intended way, with a defense a big armysize and a big income, needless to say I often ended up on the shorter end of the stick.
Then half a year before quitting I went to the other side of the crappy aspect of balance in here. I had massed a good bit but never really that much as some people do with huge strike planets, anyways my experience was that massers definitely mass way much cheaper than what defenders lose but it still shocked me when I looked at the raw data when I did it myself.

I was running around with an account, 500k supers and mercs, 250 bil strike from ms and 600-650 bil strike from planets before I sold it and finally quit the game. Massing a 4 tril def was a piece of cake and my 35 mil sized account could have/has sometimes massed several of those each day

needless to say my two planets which carried the bulk of the strike (~450 bil) were perma merlined for the next 1.5 years and the rest was silly planets with 20 bil which no one would bother taking as you can take such levels easily from inactive accounts
I never payed a single cent to get merlins through SS

Massing a whole alliance that's combined size is 20 times mine? Easy
Proof that this system is too screwed and changes need to be made? Definitely
Playing with having a 2 tril def built at all times takes way much more balls and skill than those wannabe's ME hunting cowards who hide behind untouchable stats (Tearjekker, tokko and the like) and being an insult to everyone by calling themselves "players".
Oh yeah and everyone praising them as good/great/skilled/etc. needs to get their head checked.

Rant is in spoiler cos it's not relevant to this topic
I've been here too long to actually bother get anything fixed becaue in this respect jason was pretty much like any other admin of games that ripped this game code. Any small bug takes ages to get fixed and fundamental issues of this type of game never even got adressed.
People changed the font, some colors, sometimes plagiarized a copyrighted theme and then called it a new game.

Im thinking if you just built 1 massive, say defence planet, and had it on merlin when you where not on ppt, So it would effectively never be stealable, then after a while, even though it gets expensive to upgrade the higher up you go, you would get your moneys worth out of it without it ever being in the a situation where it may get stolen....I see alot of planets that are mid range and they are all for one goal, so people with one HUGE planet could attain that goal and effectively defend it.

Anyway, Back to the point, biggest planet i seed was a big old 170k up one....And no, i couldnt take it and didnt even try :P
